Buckle up, it’s a long review, the TLDR is at the bottom. My wife and I have been trying to buy a house since 2020, but once covid started, we had to put those plans on hold. After all these years, we’re finally in our house, wrapping up some housekeeping items, pun intended, and enjoying some quality family time. Now that I’ve had time to relax and reflect, and with crazy inflation prices aside, if I had to choose between getting my house 5 years ago, or waiting until now to work with the Clayton team at Dublin, I would honestly wait.
For all my pros and cons, I’m generally a perfectionist and tend to have pretty high standards. I personally try to always give 100% effort and expect the same from others. I’m also a realist and recognize that life happens, so I generally hope for the best outcomes but plan for the worst. In my experience, the closest you can come to getting a perfect product is to work with people that are honest and transparent. Brandon, the sales manager, has been that and more throughout the entire process. He's also polite, knowledgeable, understanding, accountable, and above all, reliable.
Brandon was our point man from the beginning, until we finally moved into our house. He worked with the contractors through every stage, coordinating and most importantly communicating, every step to me with the greatest attention to detail. I really can’t say how much I genuinely respect and appreciate Brandon’s professionalism and character throughout the entire process. Out of all the salesmen I’ve worked with in my life, I can honestly say that he has been the best, by a lot. Seriously, I wouldn’t even be typing all this with such focus at midnight if it wasn’t for the sheer amount of respect that I have for him and the Dublin team. So, for that Brandon, once again, thank you.
Now, that’s not to say that the process was perfect. There were certainly some delays, and it took around 6 months total from start to finish. With that said, the Clayton team work as middlemen and ladies, they can’t predict the weather and certainly can’t make a contractor’s schedule for them. Once it was time for the next stage though, you had better believe that the Dublin team was on it.
There are also some imperfections in our home that were expected, like those due to travel, and some that weren’t expected, that likely happened at the factory, which are the ones that send my OCD into overdrive. That’s when Ms. Betty, the Dublin team’s administrative assistant, comes in to help put my nerves at ease. Once we moved into our house and started coming across these imperfections, she wasted exactly zero time coordinating with us to get them repaired. What’s more is how prompt, transparent, and precise she is with the details and scheduling. Even when it's something small, she doesn't give me time to stress out about it.
Finally, you can’t do service repairs without a service team and Randy and Greg are honestly the best. Despite Brandon saying they were, I ultimately had to be the judge of that, and he wasn’t lying. When I hear “repair,” I typically expect a band aid, something to cover up the problem, not an actual fix. If Randy and Greg were surgeons, they’re the ones you’d wait an extra month to get because they don’t just fix your problem, they fix the problems that haven’t happened yet. The best part? You won’t have to wait an extra month because they’re usually stopping by within a few days.
TLDR: I’m a perfectionist with the expectations of a pessimist. The Clayton team in Dublin went above, beyond, and shattered all of my expectations while bringing our dream home to life. I can’t possibly thank them enough and don’t regret the extra 5 year wait for our house. There were issues, the Dublin team fixed those problems and wasn't one of them. Go buy a house from them, you won’t regret it, unless you’re super impatient or unrealistic, then maybe stick with what you’ve got.
