Buying our first home was meant to be one of the happiest milestones of our lives. We were extremely excited and hopeful when we began this journey a few months ago. Unfortunately, our experience after purchasing home at Belmont Overlook has been consistently stressful, exhausting, and disappointing. 1) Cleaning: The home was not properly cleaned before handover. We found visible paint marks on LVP/carpet & mud & debris. We had to raise a cleaning request after moving in, requiring repeated movement of our belongings, which also happened with other service requests. 2) Pre Walk-Through vs Closing: Multiple unfinished items were identified during pre walk-through and we were assured they would be fixed before closing. We were not allowed to revisit before closing. On closing day almost none were completed except basic paint touch-ups. When we questioned this, we were told we can move closing date if we want to. Construction manager said service requests would be raised instead. We were under the impression that these requests would be formally logged and communicated to us via email, but that never happened. There was no follow-up or communication from the construction manager, which felt misleading and deeply disappointing 3) LVP Flooring (Major Issue): Flooring was uneven and bouncy in many areas. However, the redo was approved only after ~4 months of living in the home. Repair required full furniture removal, created heavy dust, and left the house in a mess while we were working without breaks and food. No weekend service meant we lived with dust for 3 days. Furniture was getting placed before floor cleaning, and we had to mop ourselves. This severely impacted our health, mental well-being, and work-life balance. 4) Garage Noise: Extremely loud garage noise is clearly heard in our bedroom. A technician said he would inspect, oil system, & possibly replace parts, but never returned. Issue still unresolved. 5) Cabinets: Scratches, alignment issues, & a damaged inner drawer were identified before closing but not fixed. Later repair attempts caused marks on the LVP & left residue uncleaned. 6) Refrigerator Door: Top hinge came loose and the door unexpectedly came off. Dealt with this for days. 7) Doorbell: Worked only two weeks, then stopped ringing inside the house. Technician identified a missing resistor to be ordered, but months later there is still no resolution. 8) Ceiling Fan / Electrical: When my father-in-law attempted to install a ceiling fan, he struggled for 4–5 hours despite having experience fixing electrical items. Eventually, it was discovered that there was no power connection to the outlet. A technician later visited and fixed the wiring, but removed components were not reinstalled. The fan is still not installed, and we are uncertain whether the issue has been fully resolved. 9) Bathroom Tile: There is a tile with a noticeable hole under the toilet in one of the guest bathrooms. This issue is still pending and requires another service request. 10) Toilet Commode: One toilet had a large scratch, which required a service request. This was replaced within a few days. 11) Door Lock: One guest bedroom door does not lock properly & springs back instead of staying shut. Issue is yet to be raised. 12) Closet Door: Guest bedroom closet door came off the rail. Overall Impact: Every service required us to stay home, take time off work, or adjust our schedules, negatively affecting our professional performance. Family members who traveled from another country were unable to enjoy their visit due to frequent service appointments and disruptions. We often work late nights due to workload and performance expectations, yet had to wake up early for service visits, leading to sleep deprivation, increased stress, and noticeable impacts on our physical health, mental well-being, and personal life. This review is based entirely on real experiences and documented evidence, including photos. What was meant to be a joyful first-home experience instead resulted in ongoing stress, exhaustion, and frustration.
