Apartment Rental AgencyApartment Building
The apartment you want has to make sense. Equal parts welcoming, comfortable and impressive, it has to offer modern features that complement your urban style and amenities that help you unwind, entertain and connect with others. It has to put you within reach of commuter options as well as shopping and dining options. In short, the next apartment you rent has to be a Myerton apartment home. I lived at the Myerton for about three years and didn't have many issues until the very end. Unfortunately, those problems were substantive enough that I would advise against moving here. I had to ask repeatedly for my security deposit back, but I did not receive it until I escalated the issue to Van Metre's legal team because the property manager stopped responding to me. It arrived over 45 days after the end of my lease with money missing--even though the property manager claimed he would not be charging anything--but there was no itemized list of deductions. Both the delay and the mystery deductions are inconsistent with the Virginia Residential Landlord and Tenant Act. In the final months of my stay, I submitted a work order because I smelled smoke from an outlet and the lights would flicker if multiple outlets were in use. Maintenance tested the outlet and claimed it was fine, so he refused to call an electrician. The Myerton sends a feedback survey after every work order, so I responded honestly: the issue had not been resolved. The property manager responded to this by calling to berate me, so I asked him to come with maintenance to see what was happening. Maintenance once again tried to say that the outlet was fine, but I showed the property manager how dramatically the lights flickered when I plugged in another item. They finally hired a real electrician, who found scorch marks inside the outlet. The electrician said that this was evidence that the outlet had already had a small electrical fire, and the only reason the apartment didn't burn down was because I trusted my instincts rather than listening to maintenance. I had a handful of smaller issues that are inherent in any renting experience, but these were the two that felt the most severe from a legal and safety perspective. The rent is attractively cheap for the area, but be prepared for high risk in return.

We lived there in 2020/2021. It was ok ish. Late notices about water turn offs. Packages piled everywhere. But one thing is consistent. Poor communication. I need a rental verification and you cannot get through to anyone at the leasing office. No through email or phone. When we lived there I watched through the window as I called and my call was ignored. They weren't busy. I assume the same is happening. We may lose our new rental because of this poor communication. Completely unacceptable. At the time of this edit , my review was replied too asking me to email them but my emails have still gone unanswered from asking for a rental verification.

The best things about this complex are Tim (the maintenance guy) and calm neighborhood. But the management is getting worse and worse!
