  First I would like to thank Jonathan for going above and beyond his Maintenance duties by getting my car unstuck from the snow and ice today caused by the winter storm!!! Due to my back issues I needed his help and although it was not an easy task he worked extremely hard to get my car unstuck, and I greatly appreciate it. I also would like to say I love living out here. I have lived here for four years and everyone from the leasing office to Maintenance has always been extremely helpful, very friendly, and has quickly resolved all of my issues. If your looking for a place to live in Northern, VA this is by far is a great place to live. It's quiet, close to everything, access to multiple gyms, activities throughout the year, and most importantly a hard working team that does there very best to meet the tenants needs day in and day out.

  The service team here is excellent! They are always on top of any service requests but I want to specifically highlight their response to the snow. They are always out in advance of incoming weather putting salt down and then do a great job of clearing the sidewalks, stairs and hallways. The team is small, but efficient. They do a great job of prioritizing the main traffic areas and the leasing office keeps us well informed of plans and progress. If we highlight a particular area that needs attention, they are quick to respond and take care of the issue, always with such a positive attitude.

  While I enjoyed my stay at The Elms for 6 years, I can say that the moving out process left a sour taste in my experience. Starting with the new maintenance manager, who has let the grounds get worse as the years went on. When our scheduled move out inspection occurred, we followed the expectation that if the apartment is thoroughly cleaned and orderly, we would not be charged the $175 cleaning fee. We scrubbed the apartment clean as much as we could, after being there for 6 years some things would not go away. The maintenance manager came in and immediately said it wasn’t clean, finding one piece of hair in the bathtub and obvious burn marks on the stove burners that are not able to be cleaned off. He was dismissive of everything and kept repeating “would you want to move into a place that was cleaned like this?”. My answer to that was of course not, I would expect the complex to do a second cleaning. The fridge had one crumb in it, besides being scrubbed down, and he claimed it was not livable. It’s sad because I enjoyed my time here, but refusing to cover a small charge after tedious hours of work cleaning and following their guidelines is a reflection of the company and their perspective on their long-term tenants. In their agreement, it gives you the choice, however the front office claimed that they will charge you for anything as small as a hair, which is just misleading. Also, garbage compactor is always broken leaving heaps of trash on the sidewalk. The new lights they put out are blinding even though they don’t stop the car break ins and thefts.

  We loved living here, stayed for 3 years. The office & maintenance staff are incredible! I’d give them 6-stars if I could.
