Went for a tour, was ignored by the leasing agent. He came back and continued to talk/flirt with staff. Finally, after 10 minutes he acknowledged my presence. I was dissatisfied in the amount of time he took to look at the units, he barely spent 10 seconds. I know this apartment offers different styles and layouts. Couldn’t walk up the stairs to show me the coworker area, just pointed at the stairs and explained where it was. Overall, the place looked nice. However, the experience I had wasn’t the best and that deterred me from moving forward.

It is an excellent place to live; it boasts a prime location, a fully equipped gym, green spaces, and nearby restaurants, as well as a café right in the lobby. It is an extremely safe place! It also features a beautiful swimming pool. My husband and I have been living here for nearly a year, and we absolutely love it. I would like to thank Kade for always helping us out; he is an excellent person who does his job wonderfully and is always willing to listen to us and answer all our questions. My husband and I don't speak much English, yet Kade is always ready to assist us—even if we need to rely on a translator. A huge shout-out to Kade for making our stay at Post District Residences so much easier and more enjoyable!

Rent here if you get high concessions to move in, and be prepared to pay more at renewal. For context, I have lived in many great apartment buildings in New York City, DC, and Houston. When I first toured the Post two years ago, it was a fairly new building with the best amenities downtown. Rental prices were high, but the concessions were decent (8 weeks like most downtown buildings at the time). I was told the required communal utilities would run roughly $75. These have averaged $130/month with no cap on the total amount of the various fees included. I expect these to go up with energy costs rising. The media fee of $150 makes no sense. This is apparently for cable, internet, mail parcel service, and automatic key access service. I'm not sure apartments can actually charge fees for mail or key access. If you don't use cable, then you are paying for internet at 3x market price if you were able to choose your own provider. Parking is $100/mo, but there have been consistent issues for two years with limited availability, parking gates being broken, and water leaks on the basement floor. All in, my fees run $400+ per month (including individual unit power). The 8-week concession only partially covers that. I still enjoyed living here for the first year, and I referred several tenants. So let's chat about renewal time. Last year when I was supposed to renew, I was offered flat rent and 8 weeks concession when new tenants were getting 10 weeks plus $2000. This didn't make sense because if the market had lowered the price to that level, renewals should be offered at the same price as the market price. I was told those deals were only offered to new people. They were willing to lose a consistent tenant and have the apartment sit losing rent while also offering higher concessions to a new tenant. After renewing but before my renewal started, my same layout on the same floor was listed at over $300 less/month. When I asked for a price match, I was rejected. This renewal cycle I was offered another 8 weeks with no rent change. My same layout on the same floor is listed for $250+ less/month. The current market concessions downtown are 12 weeks plus $2000-5000 cash. I know folks who recently moved in with 12 weeks concession at the Post. There are several new buildings that have come up right next to the Post. These are new buildings without the wear and tear of 3+ years of residents. Downtown SLC has a surplus of apartment supply, demand is down, and more concessions will keep being offered. If you get a really great concessions deal to move into Post, consider it, but know that you will likely pay more upon renewal and have no leverage. I would enjoy living here more if new residents and renewals were treated equally. My unit is nice and the location is convenient. There are a lot of annoying issues with the management style and the amenities, but Kade is amazing. He's the only consistent and reliable person in the leasing office. In two years, I have seen four property managers and constant turnover among leasing staff who don't know the rules and can't keep consistent management messaging and policies, let alone remember resident names or apartment numbers. Kade remains, and he's the best.

Writing a new review to reflect recent updates with management. Lived here for about a year and a half or so. It's not entirely perfect of an experience (I really wish the internet package wasn't mandatory to be paid by all residents so 5G Home Internet options can be used if residents want, but that's common with a lot of SLC places so I won't harp too much on that, more of a wish list item). My overall complaint, under old management, was that communication was scarce, situations reported went silenced and unchecked, creating a uncomfortable living experience. Recently this has taken a much better turn for the better! Since the new management team with Michelle took over earlier this year, you can tell there is a much more sincere effort to communicate with residents, listen to feedback, and handle situations quickly and with the urgency required (each situation is different of course). My wife and I were having some serious issues that needed to be addressed a few months ago. Michelle took the time to listen to our concerns, act quickly to fix the situation, and communicated with us clearly along the way what was going on and what to expect. For us, little things like that, better communication and giving us time to hear our concerns, go a long way with us to build trust with management and feel heard. That's something we can't say under the old team with Tiffany at the helm, so credit where credit is due to Michelle! Other than this, the experience definitely warms on you over time. Having a gym as large as the one on site is a major perk. The office space in the South building is super convenient and great for long work sessions or meetings. Parking is significantly better (at least in my experience), with the recent policy changes limiting guest parking to 3 hours, balancing the needs of guest parking and resident parking. Maintenance gets a good thumbs up as well! With Seth leading maintenance, tickets are closed quickly with good service and friendly staff. Overall it has improved drastically! Management changes have improved the overall experience for the better. Small things like better communication/organization and handling of issues have improved our outlook of the complex as a whole significantly. Making the area feel more like home, and a more enjoyable time!

Seth and Gio were so kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Not only did they say what they were going to do, but they explained the why behind the what, showed they truly cared, and they ensured that they would always be here for us should we need them. Two awesome guys that are so good to have here. Thanks for everything!
