Northpoint has managed our property for over 10 years. They have aways found good qualty, long term tenants and have professionally managed repairs and maintenance. Highly recomemnded for property managment.

I am extremely disappointed with Northpointe Asset Management. It has now been OVER TWO MONTHS since I moved out, and they still haven’t returned my security deposit. California law clearly requires property management companies to return a deposit or provide an itemized deduction statement within 21 days, yet Northpointe has ignored this completely. I’ve contacted them multiple times, and every time I’m either ignored, given vague answers, or told that someone “will get back to me,” which never happens. There is zero professionalism, zero urgency, and zero accountability. This is not just poor customer service, it’s a violation of tenant rights. If you expect transparency, honesty, or even basic legal compliance, look elsewhere. My experience with Northpointe Asset Management and the actual property manager Mr. Schaaf is being one of the worst I’ve ever had with any property management Ps. 11/17/2025 still waiting to receive my deposit and the management has no clue when it was mailed out. Also they are saying there's no tracking number provided for 5k check that was mailed to my address!

Northpoint doesn't even deserve a 1-star. If there were a possibility to leave a negative star, I would give them a negative 5 stars. Northpoint is by far the WORST property management company I've worked with. I currently have 4 different PM groups in 4 different markets managing my rental portfolios. So this isn't my first rodeo with out-of-state investing and PM groups. Under their management in 3 months, they placed 0 tenants, but 3 squatters managed to move in! They allowed for self-showings, which allowed someone to illegally rent one of my units to another person, scamming that "tenant" of $3,000 while I received $0 from the "tenant". I was tasked with removing that person as well as the other squatters. They do not reply promptly; it will be a week (or longer) before I hear from them after sending multiple emails. I'm now stuck trying to get my property reserves released and get refunded for management fees that should not have been billed. Once they were fired, it took a week to obtain the keys to my own properties. If you are an investor looking for a property management company, I'd RUN from Northpoint. They do not protect our assets, and you have to fight to recover the money they are holding onto. Terrible company!

There were rats (or mice) in our rental unit that left feces around the apartment. After initially saying it was our problem to deal with we reported them to the city and they acknowledged it was a mistake to say it was our fault and agreed to send someone out to remedy the problem. We were also without heat in the dead of winter for days because they tried to make the repair on the cheap until finally they got approval from the owner to make the repair that was actually needed. Mosquitoes infested the unit in the summertime whether you covered the vents or closed the windows. And taking the entire building's (what seems like a house converted into rental units on Prescott street in Dallas) trash to the curb was no one's responsibility, so the trash often sat in the back of the building attracting flies that got into units, and giant American cockroaches that you'll likely find dead in the unit when you go to do a self tour. Our building manager was constantly changing (I think we had 3 over the course of a one year lease). Mind you the building manager seems to be responsible for managing repairs and getting you your security deposit back. But since the building managers are constantly leaving, then knowledge about the condition of the when you moved in leaves with them. This likely means saying goodbye to a good chunk of your security deposit. So upon moving out the new building manager charged us $120 dollars for some mysterious hole in the bathroom that we didn't cause, likely a foundation issue, and for curtain rods that a previous tenant hung (a charge which, after producing pictures, they said they'd take off). But when we asked about the charges the building manager told us that she had been nice to us and didn't charge us for a "deep clean" that would have dinged us for $380 dollars. This despite the fact that we spent hours cleaning the unit ourselves before moving out. When he brought up the crack (or hole which turned out to be peeling wallpaper in a house built in 1949) in the wall we were treated as if we were somehow trying to get off the hook for damaging the unit when we didn't. After trying politely to make our case we were treated in a brusque, dismissive and frankly rude manner. In response to Alexa's reply: Alexa is usually who you have to go to for anything significant to get done in your unit, but this time Alexa's reply comes after my wife and I already reached out to the latest building manager, and to her. Prior to the reply she left here Alexa CCed the building manager on the email we sent to her, but only the issue regarding the curtain rods was resolved. When I reached out to the building manager she gave me replies such as: "You may dispute this, but I assure you will get same result," in reply to what I hope was my polite and respectful protestation that we didn't cause the damage to the walls we were being charged for. Damage that was certainly caused by high humidity in the bathroom and/or the uneven foundation of the building. It feels as if we are being treated as if we are lying. I wish them all the best, and would rather have been charged for misc damages than to have been charged for damage I didn't cause and then treated as if I'm some kind of fraudster or nuisance. Think twice before you rent from them.
