I was one of Carter F’s tenants in the property General Property managed. I think the real reason they wanted to end their contract with him was that, yes they weren’t making enough money-because they seem to make money in part by charging their clients for services and repairs they don’t actually perform for the tenants. Or by charging tenants for repairs THEY are legally required to pay for. They said we were “too difficult” because unfortunately for them, we’re tenants who know our rights. But I think it may have had to do with fear for legal consequences. The property had some habitability issues that Brooke flat out lied about, (no offense to Carter, these were things that could’ve been disclosed and addressed easily if GPM weren’t so scummy) and I had to call the health department for simple, nonsense things like getting a trash and recycling bin for my family because Brooke tried offloading that cost to us even though she claimed in her ad and in the lease that GPM pays for 100% of waste management. I also had to file a DATCP claim against them, during which I found out the lease they drafted for him contained an illegal provision. Again, I think they ended their contract because we were ramping up action against all of their illegal and unethical practices. I find out after the fact (in the DATCP paperwork) that Carter was totally okay with us getting an inspection of the property, that we even said we would pay for, however this was never communicated to us, and would’ve solved sooo many issues. John Moss or Brooke Peterson on his behalf, lied to the DATCP investigator by saying they communicated that very significant fact to us…and that we chose not to do it for some reason? Even though we asked for that IMMEDIATELY upon moving in, and you know what they actually did, Brooke walked in the unit and said essentially, “Looks good to me.” Even though she wasn’t even a licensed realtor at the time, let alone someone qualified and certified to make an inspection. They completely acted as a roadblock between us and Carter, and I had a feeling they were screwing him over too. The tenants above our unit who had Carter F as a landlord for years said he was a very nice and reasonable guy. But the way General Property Management represented him made him seem like a slumlord-when in fact they were the slumlords.

I would be weary of this rental company I had water damage from flooding in one of my rooms from an improper seal on my window. Then I proceeded to hire carpet cleaning and they still charged us with cleaning. Also takes them forever to respond to maintenance requests or even just general questions. When others were touring the house the person guiding the tour let all the people touring just go wherever they wanted ,they hire some very unprofessional people here. Also added to our moving charges after they sent the first itemized bill they updated it after. Very disorganized please be weary of renting from them. Ultimate slumlords

Even though we haven't purchased a home yet, I wanted to take a moment to recognize how amazing Brooke has been throughout the process. She has been incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and responsive, always taking the time to answer questions and help us understand every step along the way. She genuinely cares about her clients and never makes us feel pressured. Her professionalism, honesty, and dedication have made what can be an overwhelming process feel much more manageable. We are so grateful for all of her guidance and support and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a realtor who truly goes above and beyond.
