1-Star Review — Chateau Woods Leasing Team Shows Zero Respect for Your Time or Dignity
My experience with the Chateau Woods leasing team in Bothell has been incredibly frustrating and, frankly, disrespectful so far.
The leasing team is located in California, so apparently their messages have to travel by camel before they reach Bothell. 🐪 It can take hours to receive a response. They text you, then apparently go swimming while you sit there staring at your phone, waiting for the next message. So if you enjoy the California-time communication experience, congratulations—you’ve found it.
The biggest issue is the complete lack of respect for your time. They provide multiple phone numbers, yet getting an actual human being to answer is nearly impossible. Everything is pushed to text, and once you start asking serious questions or trying to actually move forward, the communication becomes painfully unreliable.
They text you. You reply. Then... silence.
You wait.
You stare at your phone.
You start wondering whether your message went into a black hole somewhere between California and Bothell.
And eventually, maybe, you get a response.
When you text them, don't expect an answer in less than 20 minutes for each response. Have two questions? Great. Budget approximately 40 minutes for the privilege of getting both answered.
Even when you physically go to the property, your time apparently means nothing. You can be left waiting 30–45 minutes just to receive a text with an access code.
And then, once you finally get inside, you're expected to sign something on your phone that is barely visible and extremely difficult to read properly.
Because apparently the modern leasing experience is:
Drive to the property → wait → wait some more → stare at your phone → receive code → squint at tiny text → wonder what exactly you just signed.
Very professional.
What makes the experience even more insulting is the repeated messaging saying, “We’re here to help.”
No. You are technically somewhere. That's different.
When you actually need help, you are left alone. You call, you text, you wait, and you follow up while nobody seems to take responsibility for actually helping you.
At one point, I had been waiting three hours for a simple answer explaining how to apply.
Three.
Hours.
In those three hours, I had lunch, paid my bills, talked to my family, took a shower, and probably had enough time to reconsider my entire life.
Still no response.
The website doesn't clearly show the unit number either. So if you happen to have memorized the square footage and floor plan from your tour, congratulations—you may be able to play detective and figure out which unit you're supposed to apply for.
I didn't memorize it.
So I'm still waiting.
At this point, I'm apparently waiting for Brigitte Borda to decide whether she feels like texting me back and telling me how to apply. 😵💫🧐
There is also a complete lack of consideration for your dignity as a prospective resident. You are not asking them for a favor. You are potentially making a major financial and life decision. You deserve clear communication, basic courtesy, and respect for your time.
Instead, the experience makes you feel like you're an inconvenience they expect to sit quietly and wait for.
Zero respect for your time. Zero urgency. Zero accountability.
And, in my experience so far, very little respect for the person on the other side of the conversation.
If this is the level of communication and responsiveness they provide before you sign a lease, it makes me seriously question what it would be like to deal with this leasing team after becoming a resident.
Hopefully, you don't have a maintenance emergency.
Otherwise, you might want to pack a lunch while waiting for the message from California.
If you are applying here, expect a terrible leasing-team experience, painfully slow communication, and a whole lot of waiting.

As a very easy going person, I am not one to write reviews on companies or businesses. As the person who rented their only remodeled unit, I can tell you that this place is a cash grab. They will try to leach as much money as possible from you. They gave us a nice deal in year 1, but then left a letter on our door saying that rent would increase by $300/month, after we were already paying $3,350/month for base rent. Mind you, this doesn’t include the $75/month parking (per spot) and other slop they add. Their justification for this price increase was “moving can be expensive”. After we moved out, they hit us with a $250 cleaning fee (after we cleaned the unit), and $500 for paint (when we only put a couple of nail holes in the apartment). Do not rent from here unless you want to continue giving private equity companies money and continue being leached out of living comfortably. The staff was fine, the unit was fine, the location was fine, but other than that, stay as far away as possible. There are many better options in the Woodinville area. Best of luck and stay at least a mile away from this area. Also, the ceilings are thin so if you rent a unit not on the 4th floor, good luck. Neighbors also steal packages from others if they’re left in the open.
Cheers though, spend garbage money on this place and get what you pay for!
