Update: I said if they fixed the wall shaking, this would be a great place. And I meant it. They corrected the issue and I've been able to sleep and genuinely enjoy my time with no issues. That is something I genuinely appreciate.
Overall this place is 9/10. I wanted to give a full review for those looking.
The "It is what it is":
Cost. These places run about $200-$300 more than several nice places nearby. Now, you do get a great view of Mt. Rainier from the roof, but that cost is something you need to really think of.
Parking. If you don't pay the $150 you are not parking on the property. That is frustrating when rent is this high. I wish they would give one spot to those with 1 bedrooms and up, or only charged $50.
Apartment size - I still hate we live in a world where apartments can be less than 600sqft. If they had 700 sqft for $1650-$1700 this would be amazing and I would LITERALLY never leave.
So, this is something to keep in mind. If you do not drive or are ok with parking on the street then that will save some money.
The Good:
Marlene and Morgan. Now they could just be the greatest actors ever and actually not be great, or they are just genuinely great. I appreciate them greatly and they don't have that "screw these tenants" vibe. They seem to still care. I appreciate the hell out of them.
Maintenance. I wish I could remember the guys name, and I apologize if he sees this, but he is awesome. He is so quick to understand what is going on and talks to you like a real person. I appreciate the hell out of him.
The place is well maintained. This includes the front of the building, the garage, the trash, and the community areas.
The apartments are nice. The few I have "met" have also mentioned that their apartments were nice when they moved in and have also had no issues.
Rooftop: You get an amazing view of Mt Rainier. And apparently everyone here is sick of the view cause there is hardly anyone ever up there.
The Cons
Windows: Screw these windows. They open like doors and only by 6 inches. My place doesn't have a sliding door so I have all these windows and only 2 open so I have to pray to Kratos to send a damn breeze into this apartment.
No ceiling fans or fan mode on heater: This would help so many since there is no ac or just a fan option on the heater to just have air move. I have a total of 11 fans in my place.
The "If Onlys" that could make this place stand out:
There is nothing that fosters natural engagement. If instead of some office space on the ground floor they built they could have had a commissary/store with candy, snacks and drinks that are affordable and unique. (There is one "vending machine" in the lounge charging $4 for a candy bar)
It could have given a place to meet people in passing and talk about new items brought in. My place in HTX did this. Manager ordered boxes of overseas snacks and candy (snacks and drinks from Costco/Sams as well) and sold everything for like $2-$3. Could have brought in extra money and give a space people could interact, would also build community with the management team as people swing by and talk about the unique snacks instead of only coming by to complain or ask for something.
A walking path/track on the roof. Why is there no walking track on the roof. This would give people ultimate opportunity to get out and walk and meet neighbors in passing more naturally. There is space they could have designed something.
Lounge games. Why is the lounge not lined with board games and disinfectant wipes. Like an insane amount of both. Or a method to scan games out to play. Why not get game consoles and have them set up so people can go in and play on the big tv. Why is there not more done to bring people together naturally. So many here are from out of state. Or set something up so residents could host "official" movie nights.
String lights on the 2nd floor out door areas. Take string lights, like the ones on the roof, and drape some across the chairs to create a beautiful area to relax.
I genuinely think you would really enjoy staying here.

I’ve lived at Sixth & Alder for a little over a year now, and it’s honestly been a great place to call home. One thing I’ve always appreciated is how secure the building feels with fob access throughout the community. I started in a Studio + Den that felt quiet and tucked away, then recently moved into a one-bedroom on the 6th Avenue side. It’s been a fun change, I love sitting on my patio and people-watching!
One of my favorite things is the location. I went almost a year without a car, so being able to walk to Walmart, coffee shops, restaurants, nightlife, and pretty much everything I needed made a huge difference.
The neighborhood is incredibly dog-friendly. My pups and I have found so many nearby parks, and we’ve even stumbled across a few cute little free hidden libraries on our walks. I also love the sense of community. Everyone has been so friendly! Between the rooftop (my favorite spot), the resident lounge, and local places like Trapper’s Sushi, there’s always something to enjoy.
Overall - I’ve felt safe, comfortable, and genuinely happy living here.
I definitely recommend Sixth & Alder, 10/10!

I came to check out the property and had a great experience. The community was clean, well maintained, and welcoming. The leasing agent was very friendly, answered all of my questions, and made the whole process easy. The rooftop view was absolutely breathtaking and such a beautiful space to enjoy, especially during the summer. That was definitely a huge plus! If you’re looking for a place to live, I would definitely recommend checking this community out.
Amazing community with an amazing staff. Highly recommend

I'm just getting moved in, but so far everything is great!
The staff are friendly and helpful, the other residents that I've met are nice.
The best thing is that it's been quiet.
My last place had a lot of street noise.
It feels safe and it's quiet.
So far I love it!
Can't wait to fully unpack and settle in.
