  Our community has worked with PMI Puget Sound for the past few years, and the experience has improved significantly over time. When PMI Puget Sound took over, communication was a challenge. Responses were slow, staff turnover was frequent, the on-site staff were negative and it was often difficult to get ahold of the right person. At times, it felt like they may have taken on more than they could handle. And the owner seemed distracted with other things. It was messy in the beginning. To be fair, they stepped in after our previous property management company had completely dropped the ball so they inherited an absolute mess. Fast forward to today (04/13/2026), and they feel like a completely different company. Their current team is responsive, professional, and easy to reach. Communication has been thorough, and any concerns or issues I have had with my condo has been handled in a timely manner. I even joked with Alex asking if the person responding was AI because of how on top of everything she is. They do push back on some requests, we have unrealistic owners, but that’s part of their job, and I respect that. When I get annoyed, I’ll admit, I can be a bit of a know-it-all at times, but they’ve been patient, let me voice my thoughts, and then we work together to figure out a solution. Overall, they started near the bottom of my list of property management experiences, but today they are one of the best I’ve worked with. If you’re considering them, I recommend reading the negative reviews and asking them directly how they’ve addressed those issues. If you like the response, give them a try!! Also, keep in mind that if your board isn’t organized or your policies aren’t clear, it can create frustration that may not actually be the property manager’s fault. I am saying this from my personal experiences with my board.

  I wanted to take a moment to share my experience with PMI. While parts of the process were organized and communication was consistent at times, overall I am disappointed with how things were handled. I went through the full application process without being clearly informed that the owner could simply decide not to rent the property at all. That is something that should have been communicated upfront, as it impacts applicants’ time, expectations, and decisions. Had I known that this was a possibility, I would have approached things differently. Because of this lack of transparency, I would not recommend PMI. It’s important for renters to have clear and honest information from the beginning, especially in an already stressful housing process. That being said, I do want to acknowledge Audrey May, the Residential Support Specialist I worked with. She was helpful, professional, and responsive throughout our interactions, and I truly appreciate her efforts and support. Overall, I just wish there had been more transparency and better communication about all possible outcomes from the start.
