  I looked for a nice manufactured home for about six months. I called and visited dealers all the way from Mt Vernon to Vancouver WA. I was considering between two in the Centralia/chehalis area and almost did but one called the housing mart would not work with me on the price at all and wanted to charge me a couple thousand dollars for the tie downs and also my place is in a difficult location for delivery, there is a very tight corner with a big tree to navigate. They wanted to charge me for this also. “If we have to use the crawler and it’s a hard location probably a thousand more at least.” I went to Lorenzo at Clayton in Lacey and he assured me they would not charge me any extra for this, and even worked with me on the price! Lorenzo is a younger guy but he’s very knowledgeable. I didn’t use this company for my permits or contractors. I already knew a contractor that built my mom’s house and I did all the permits myself, which wasn’t easy but I got it done in under six months. My Contractor was sometimes horrible at communication so Lorenzo would actually help me and answer some of those questions that I had regarding the process. I do have to add that the factory made a mistake and gave me the wrong color cabinets. I wanted gray and they gave me a darker brown. I ended up actually liking it better as gray and white are going out of style and brown is coming back. My wife was a little upset because she still wanted the gray. I called Lorenzo and straight away, he basically offered to have it changed, I didn’t feel like going to the trouble of having it change so I asked if he could give me a credit, a cash discount and he agreed right away. And 100% made it right. I was out of the country for a few months, and I informed him of the date I would like the house delivered, and it was delivered exactly on that time. It wasn’t late at all. I did use their company for the block Skirting on my house, one of their contractors named Ron. And it looks beautiful, absolutely great! They did a fantastic job! Lorenzo even let me have for free two sets of stairs for the house! Allen from their office in Lacey came out and did all the finishing touches, he has a great eye for detail and did an amazing job also. I still have my final permit to go, but I don’t see any issue with it going through. Go see Lorenzo. He’s a straight shooter, honest and trustworthy. I 100% recommend him and this company.

  While this company offers beautiful home designs on their website, my experience attempting to get an estimate was deeply disappointing. I requested a standard quote for an ADU model with a few basic catalog modifications. Rather than providing the pricing, Joseph stated that no estimates could be given without an upfront $1,000 deposit. For property owners managing large-scale assets, paying a deposit just to see a basic quote is a highly unusual and aggressive demand. This policy, combined with existing negative reviews concerning unreturned deposits, made me very reluctant to move forward. If you are looking for transparent, competitive pricing upfront, you may want to look at other local builders who do not gate basic information behind a financial fee.

  Joseph Vaughn at Clayton Homes in Lacey is fantastic! If you have the pleasure of working with him, I think you would really enjoy his style. Great customer service, no pressure, very responsive, and goes the extra mile in providing guidance for home buyers. I would highly recommend him to anyone!
