Lived in a top floor one bedroom with my partner for >1 year, 2023-2025. The amenities were great; pool, pool room, gym, coffee station. Always spotless! Kimi in management always so attentive— to tenants and to all the details of the community. Jaron too. Maintenance team, Todd and his colleagues, always very responsive, kind, and polite. Lots of community events that were fun and a good way to make friends. The area is great too. Walking distance to breweries, bars, grocery shopping, coffee shops, and many tasty eateries. 5-10 min drive from museum district and cary town. would live here again!

I strongly do not recommend this apartment complex. It has long outlived its prime and is very poorly maintained - from the condition of the building itself to the state of the individual units. Everything looks worn down and in urgent need of renovation. The elevators are a whole separate issue - they break down more often than orders come in at McDonald’s. The managers are rude and unprofessional. They even threaten to revoke gym access if someone doesn’t return equipment to its place. Seriously - what kind of behavior is that? Learn basic communication and professionalism first. The pool is constantly overcrowded with students, and in the mornings you can find cans and chip wrappers left behind. They also replaced the nice lounge chairs with cheap plastic ones. Parking is extremely inconvenient, and there are no designated guest spots. As a result, visitors park in spaces meant for residents - who, by the way, are paying above-average rent for Richmond. There is a constant smell of marijuana and cigarettes, despite the fact that smoking is prohibited. And the list goes on.

These apartments are absolutely not worth the price they’re asking. The management is extremely unprofessional - their communication style is worse than in a cheap diner. The elevators are constantly broken and take weeks to be repaired. They also violate the law when you move out. Under state law, they are not allowed to charge you for normal wear and tear of the apartment unless there is actual damage, such as a broken sink or other serious issues. However, they still charge tenants for standard cleaning and even pass on expenses that, by law, should be their responsibility.

I strongly do not recommend this apartment complex due to a number of ongoing and serious issues. First, the condition and maintenance of common areas are unacceptable. The walls are covered with chips and damage that are never repaired. In some hallways, there are actual holes in the walls with insulation falling out - and these issues remain unresolved for months. Second, the cleaning is very poor. The carpets clearly haven’t been cleaned in years, floors are washed infrequently and poorly, and it’s common to see trash sitting in the hallways for weeks at a time. Third, the elevators are extremely unreliable. Multiple times a year, all elevators in the building break down at the same time, forcing residents to walk up several flights of stairs. Repairs take weeks, which shows a complete lack of urgency and poor management. Fourth, during the warmer months, the pool is closed for cleaning about once a week, and residents are only notified the same day instead of in advance. Overall, for the price you pay here, there are much newer and significantly better-maintained apartments in the area. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Hi I am resident at ella scott apartments , I move in last October before I move in I tell them in the main office that I have kids and i m worried that they will make sound but they were ok with that and said “it is ok you are worrying to much” now after 3 months they start telling me the apartment people underneath my apartment complaining that we walking upstairs etc and I felt so bad because they don’t even listen to our explanation I give rent on time but the crazy thing is I can’t even walk in my own apartment. Also I had guest coming to our house on eid festival which was on Saturday and they even have problem to celebrate any kind of festival on Saturday I dont invite anyone except Saturday but sadly you can’t invite anyone on weekends either. I am really disappointed with their service.
