I moved here 5 years ago and when I moved in the place was a hidden gem. I moved in and was paying roughly 900.00 a month for a one bedroom. Jump forward a year later and they are bought by some massive company who decides to upgrade the exterior decks and add on tons of additional fees. You're forced to pay for valet trash which is a total joke as I can take my own trash to the dumpster which was two steps from my apartment. The prices you see listed are typical marketing scams as by the time they walk on all the fees you're looking at 1500 a month. The apartment had carpet throughout, weathered cabinets falling apart, generic counter tops, out dated appliances, decks that slant so bad you feel unsafe sitting on them and outdoor storage doors that don't close and that are falling off. The sliding glass door leading to the deck had one of those cheap blinds with slants that slide along a track. It never worked and every time you tried to open the blinds the slats would rip and fall off. Discussed at move in and never fixed but they charged me for every broken slat. The oven worked one time and the bottom heating element broke about five years ago. Again, addressed at move in. Never fixed. When you pay your rent they charge outrageous fees just to pay rent! They won't accept money orders and everything has to be done via the portal. They say to pay rent online through the portal via ACH for free. I made the mistake of doing this two years ago and transferred money from one account to another and before the transfer even hit the bank they attempted to take money out of the account. Two lease agreements later they never turned on my ability to pay via ach again even though it was a new lease agreement. This resulted in me having to pay outrageous card processing fees each time I paid rent. If you have a pet beware. If your pet dies unexpectedly you will still be charged pet rent every month and they don't care and will not help you. At move out; you don't get a nice thank you for renting here for five years. Instead you get a nasty letter saying here are your move out charges pay them within 14 days or we will send you to collections. I now live in northern Virginia in a luxury apartment with all the bells and whistles and don't pay near what I was paying to live in this place. Rent here with caution.
The apartment is cool, the leasing office is more than unhelpful. Apon moving here I was threatened with a penalty over an issue the leasing office was experiencing! They apologized for that and told me never mind .. okay cool , then one day I wanted to use the pool so I went to the leasing office to ask about when it would be ready since it was filthy , I was told “I mean other people where in it earlier soo” … erm okay. then today my package was delivered but nowhere to be found , I went to the leasing office to see if maybe they have cameras or anything like that .. the lady I spoke too didn’t care and was very unhelpful , actually she had a sarcastic tone and lacked empathy to have a job dealing with the public. Avoid the leasing office as much as possible if you choose to live here.

Moving into Park West End Apartments was a frustrating experience from the very first day I moved in here. Within hours of getting the keys, it was clear that the unit had not been properly prepared for a new tenant. The toilet was broken on move-in, and the dishwasher didn’t work at all—basic essentials that should absolutely be checked and functioning before anyone is allowed to move in. Overall, this was a poor first impression that could have easily been avoided with basic quality checks. Tenants deserve to walk into a clean and functional apartment—not a list of problems to report on day one. I would say the only good thing is the maintenance team who is very quick to solve the problem at hand and doing their best to fix it but this place is definitely not worth the rent they are charging here. The Buildings are old with landlord special paint jobs, doors that can’t shut properly and constant plumbing and water issues. Definitely happy to move out of here and found a better apartment complex to live in.
Recently I filled out application for 2 br apartment at this location because of good reviews and location. I met all qualifications on criteria for being a tenant. After paying $50 application fee and $250 security deposit, i was told that my application was denied? When I inquired as to why, I was told because of a failed back ground check and a chapter 13 bankruptcy that I filed 2 years ago. I was kind of confused because the chapter 13 was filed by my lawyer for back taxes which has been paid and current to date. I currently owe no taxes . And I haven't had a criminal record(Especially in Virginia)in over 30 plus years since time i resided in North Carolina. At which time, it was a non violent offense that is currently in process of being expunged and pardoned. I drive for a living with TWIC card and Hazmat that requires national background checks often. My background is good enough to go through ports, airports and military bases. but not good enough to rent a apartment? Makes me wonder, was it really the background or an excuse not to rent to me? Its crazy when you're are labeled because of your past. That's why your past is your past. It should not dictate your future.I've been residing and renting at my current location for 3 years and my past or background never come into question when it comes to paying my rent. And what's so ironic, the same website, Loft living , in which Park West End use for their application process, is the same website where I pay my current rent? Park West End passed judgment on me and labeled me and it had nothing to do with what they stated.

This place is extremely unprofessional and incapable of dealing with health and safety codes. I have had a bedbug infestation for multiple weeks with no care and urgency towards it from any of the managers, as they seemed content to just let me live with the infestation. This is unacceptable and is nothing has been done to resolve the issue. Then, when trying to resolve the issue, the managers placed the blame on me and suggest I brought them in when they came from the vents. I suggest you never lease here.
