- TBTeri BeckwithJul 20, 20261.0Nice model homes but the customer service and sales people were horrible. The lead guy basically talks nonstop AT you, not with you, and wont let you finish a sentence or squeeze in to ask a question. We visited 2 times, and basically wasted the 4 hours of the round trip drives. The actual buying process is so confusing! And all they keep saying is you have to go through accounting. We did a credit check and had bank approval with a 820 credit score. Aubrey (I think was her name) would not and never did, return emails or phone calls. Even after we submitted the requested paperwork. After 3 weeks we drove back down there, this time with an appt.w/ Logan. When we got there we were told she had just broken both feet and was in the hospital. (We felt bad for her. How miserable 😒) then he continued to talk over us and at us, until I just had enough. We gave him a very tight budget (200k), however, we would have doubled that (but we werent saying that upfront) and if he just took a few mins to let US speak and ask our questions so we could understand their purchasing process we may have bought from them. Logan was our 'assigned' sales manager, nice guy and polite but he basically said about 3 sentences to us and then walked sway to take a call and we never saw hom again. The other lead guy, who said he 'knows everything about manufactured and modular homes" continued to talk at us and was a little condesending. Frustrated and over it, I left with no regrets. Besides, as he told us, they are the largest home builder in the USA. So they dont really need or want my business anyways, right? I should have believed all the negative reviews before even considering Clayton Homes of Harrisonburg. Pro Tip: Kindness goes a long, very long, way!
