  Lived there for 3 months. Had to terminate lease cuz of excessive noise from upstairs resident. Walls are paper thin. The management will not enforce any policy! Residents don’t respect each other’s privacy and there is dog waste everywhere. Building 1 is too close to road and has a bike shop few feet away to make you sleepless! Horrible apartment experience so far in life.

  *This review is specifically for the leasing agent, Stephanie* Since moving to The Brook in May, there have been some ups and downs, but I want to extend a "thank you" and positive review for Stephanie, our current leasing agent, who went above and beyond, a few weeks ago, after our dog was attacked and chased by another dog (from the neighborhood, the dog didn't belong to a resident) through the aparment complex and helped calm both dogs down while keeping them apart and safe, despite this being far out of the scope of her job as a leasing agent! Thank you, Stephanie!

  I lived at this complex for a year (2bed 2bath with a mudroom in the entrance on the 4th floor - base rent $2,275) The price point for these apartments does not match the level of service and amenities that are provided. Communication between the leasing office and residents is abysmal. I provided my forwarding address during move out (in March), yet received a call just this month (August) from a representative asking me to pick up my mail, when I asked if they could forward it, as previously discussed, the response was 'um... I could do that'. I've still yet to receive the mail. During the snow/ice storm back in January, they did such a poor job preparing that the entire parking lot, sidewalks, etc. were covered in ice for well over a week. I personally helped a number of residents get their cars out of ice (see picture - it's all ice), the apartment complex across the street did not have to deal with this. They are also extremely inconsistent with enforcing policies, the neighbor directly in front of us would leave their trash out for days, which would cause the entire hallway to smell, even though that wasn't allowed. There was also dog poop throughout the complex at all times and there was zero communication or effort made to make things better. For the amount of money that you pay monthly, you can find a much better complex with better location, better amenities, and better staff. I imagine that's why the same floor plan I was renting earlier this year is now starting at almost $200 less than what I was previously renting it for.

  Very, very nice apartments and amenities HOWERVER, many of the residences disregard lease policies, have no respect for their neighbors, make excessive noise, play very loud music, do not clean up after their pets and monopolize the club house and the pool area. It is very sad and hopefully management and staff can get things under control.

  My wife and I moved out of The Brook on March 7, 2026, and here we are months later still trying to get answers regarding our security deposit. We were originally told that we would be receiving a refund, yet the process has been nothing but frustrating, inconsistent, and poorly communicated. We have emailed, called, and attempted to contact both the leasing office and the management company, Middleburg Communities, numerous times. Every conversation seems to end with “it’s being escalated,” but no one actually follows through or provides a clear resolution or timeline. Trying to reach someone higher up in management has been not existent with calls leading to recordings and messages that go unanswered. At this point, the issue is no longer just about the deposit itself — it’s about the lack of communication, accountability, and customer service. Former residents should not have to chase down basic information for months after moving out. I would strongly encourage future residents to document everything carefully throughout their lease and move-out process. This is extremely disappointing since the apartments are new to the area.
