I would not recommend living at Breckenridge Apartments based on my experience. I lived here from late April 2025 until July 31, 2026, and experienced problems almost from the day I moved in. The apartment I received was not the same layout or condition as the unit I was shown during my tour, despite being told the layouts would be exactly the same. That was disappointing from the start. Throughout my tenancy, I had to submit numerous work orders for issues including pest control, bathtub resurfacing/paint peeling, and other maintenance concerns. The bathtub was an ongoing issue that existed from the beginning of my lease, yet when I moved out, I was charged for tub refinishing from my security deposit. I documented the peeling tub on my move-in inspection and submitted multiple maintenance requests during my lease, but management still held me financially responsible after move-out. As an active-duty military service member, I also experienced unnecessary difficulty when exercising my rights to terminate my lease due to military orders. Instead of the process being straightforward, it became far more complicated than it should have been. To make matters worse, after moving out I had to reach out myself to find out why money had been deducted from my security deposit. Management claimed the tub required refinishing due to my tenancy, despite my documented maintenance history and move-in inspection noting the issue. I strongly disagreed with that assessment. Overall, communication was frustrating, maintenance issues were persistent, and I left feeling that management was more focused on passing costs onto residents than taking responsibility for pre-existing problems. I hope future residents have a better experience than I did, but I encourage anyone considering this property to thoroughly document the condition of their unit at move-in and keep records of every maintenance request.

We have lived here for three years, and I have to admit that when we first moved in, the first property manager seemed a bit too strict. Looking back, though, I now understand that his high standards were the reason the property was always clean, noise was kept to a minimum, and the maintenance team was knowledgeable and responsive. When the second property manager took over, we slowly started noticing changes. Nothing was so severe that we questioned renewing our lease, but it was obvious that the property was beginning to decline. I mean no disrespect to the current property manager, because I understand she inherited a difficult situation. From what I understand, most of the maintenance crew left, and getting help has been a challenge. Unfortunately, since she took over, the condition of the property has become extremely disappointing. There is now trash scattered throughout the property, dumpsters are frequently overflowing, and the smell of marijuana is present almost 24/7. The stairwells are covered in dirt and cobwebs, whereas they used to be cleaned regularly. Our bathtub has been peeling since we moved in, and the paint on the walls is so poor in quality that it comes off simply by wiping the walls down during normal cleaning. I understand that every apartment community has its ups and downs, and I know managing a property isn't easy. However, it is incredibly disappointing to see how much this community has declined in just three years. It has also been frustrating having three different property managers in such a short period of time, as it feels like there has been little consistency. Paying over $2,000 a month for rent simply does not match the condition of the property today. What once felt like a well-maintained community now feels neglected, and that is disheartening. Unless significant improvements are made, we sincerely hope to move elsewhere when our lease is up next year.

Our first year here was great, so we renewed. It seems like as soon as we resigned, all issues started. First was being charged additional rent that nobody made us aware of. The maintanience management changed and nobody knew how to do anything. Our back door didn’t lock correctly the entire second year. Our bath continued to peel over and over. After months of them “fixing” it, we finally asked them to leave it and wait until we moved because we were tired of having to be out of the house, taking our things out, etc. We were given a late fee notice at our door, while having a credit on our account because we always over paid. Once management corrected it, they still told us to pay the late fee on the account! We did not do that. You will see lots of rats! They will climb all over your patio, around your cars, run past you on the sidewalk, etc. We dealt with rats the entire second year, even passing dead ones. The current manager, Ny’asia, clueless. She attempted to deny us access to our walk out, until I asked her to confirm she’s denying our rights as a tenant. During our walk out, we were told our carpet had normal wear and tear, however, that only applied after 3 years so we would be getting charged. This was corrected once I asked Ny’Asia to show me where it says that in the lease. However, instead, they charged us for a blind that was not damaged when we left. We were not given any explanation other than “it’s broken” for Ny’asia. It did not appear broken in the photo (and we know it’s not broken as we didn’t break it). This place will just give you constant headaches. It was great the first year, everyone was friendly and helpful, now they can’t keep staff and whoever they are staffing clearly doesn’t qualify. Not everyone was horrible, but the good ones never stayed long.

** SAVE YOUR APOLOGIES,PEOPLE PAY TOO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS. DO BETTER** Been here for 2 months and really wish I chose somewhere else. So many maintenance issues to get fixed and maintenance takes weeks to come out after constantly calling and putting in tickets just to not even fully fix issues so you have to call and wait again. I'm not talking small maintenance repairs either. Water issues, major important appliances not working, toilet running, porch door not closing fully, the gym/club house smells moldy, maintenance calls not returned, they can't even keep up with the community amenities. Just a hot mess. Save your " give us a call " Breckenridge, I've been doing that already to no resolution. My advice to others, go elsewhere.
