  I would strongly recommend that anyone considering moving to Tyson’s Glen think twice. Our first year living here was okay. There were some recurring issues, but nothing that made us want to leave immediately. If you have a basement apartment like we do, be prepared for your kitchen sink to back up with sewer water every month. Management told us this is “normal” and blamed other residents in the building. We also dealt with bugs and mold during the summer because of the humidity. Unfortunately, everything changed for worse after we renewed our lease. We had an ongoing issue with our heating system that required multiple maintenance visits. Each time, we were told it had been fixed. Instead, whatever they did haven’t fixed the issue because it caused our electric bill to nearly triple for three consecutive months. Now we’re approaching a full month dealing with a mouse infestation, and it’s been one of the most stressful experiences we’ve ever had in a rental property. We can barely get in touch with the leasing office because they never answer the phone, and emails are rarely returned. Maintenance typically comes for just a couple of minutes, leaves a work order saying they visited, and nothing actually gets resolved. Pest control has placed a few traps, but even they told us it’s our responsibility to find the entry points—which is unreasonable when we’re renting the apartment. We’re living with mouse droppings throughout our home, including our bedroom. We’ve documented multiple mice on our security cameras, proving this isn’t an isolated incident. We’re losing sleep, worried about the health risks, and despite repeatedly reporting the problem, we’ve received little meaningful help. One maintenance employee even told us the ongoing construction of the new pool may be forcing rodents out from underground. When we asked the leasing office when the construction would be completed, they couldn’t provide any timeline. Mind you that it has been under construction since last September. To make matters worse, we’re paying a full price rent with increased rate when renewed, while many of the advertised amenities are unavailable because both the pool and gym are under reconstruction. Instead of enjoying the community we’re paying for, we’re dealing with a rodent infestation, poor communication, and a management team that seems unwilling or unable to resolve serious habitability issues. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Tyson’s Glen. If you’re looking for a place where management communicates effectively, and your health and safety are taken seriously, I would look elsewhere.

  Great place to live, Carlos and the maintenance crew are awesome and keep the place well maintained.

  Here to compliment Carlos for maintenance work! He comes the same day that I submit requests and is extremely fast with fixing any issue. We moved in and had several minor fixes that needed to be done, which does not reflect well on Tysons Glen Apartments. However, having Carlos to come fix these issues quickly was very helpful.

  Carlos Cruz was the amazing technician who repaired my AC unit. He noticed ice on my condenser line before I even knew there was a problem. It took multiple visits to figure out the actual problem. But he was the one who returned to my apartment and checked to make sure things were working. He always noticed the issue before I did. Carlos did an amazing job at preventative maintenance as well as showed a dedication to finding the source of the issue and repairing it fully.
