  When I moved out, they hit me with ridiculous, exorbitant move-out fees that went far beyond my security deposit. They have strict requirements for things like carpet cleaning, saying it needs to be done professionally and cost at least $140, which is just insane. I'm not sure holding residents hostage with limitless charges and fees is even legal. I will be consulting with my lawyer.

  RUN if you’re considering moving here. A few years ago, under the previous manager, it was extremely difficult to find an available apartment because the community was consistently full. She was professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful to residents. Our experience with the current management has been completely different. Communication has been consistently unprofessional, dismissive, and poorly handled. There now appear to be vacancies throughout the community, and we have seen many residents move out. There is also a serious lack of coordination between management and maintenance. Two maintenance technicians told us our screen door would be repaired at no cost, so we allowed them to remove it. Management later contradicted what its own maintenance staff had told us and demanded payment. We refused, and we lived without a screen door for more than a year. Despite that, management still attempted to charge us for it at move-out. We formally disputed the charge and filed a BBB complaint. Rather than resolving the dispute, management informed us that the disputed balance would be sent to collections if we did not pay it. I would strongly advise anyone considering this property to look elsewhere. Moving here is a decision you may regret for a very long time.

  Shout out to Victoria, who truly represents the best of what a great leasing office should be. She is always kind, responsive, and genuinely cares about the residents. Emily has also been wonderful. I don’t usually get the chance to work with her, but the one time I had a question, she immediately had all the answers I needed and was incredibly helpful. A big thank you as well to Donna and Daniel from the maintenance team. They are always professional, friendly, and quick to help whenever something comes up. I’m grateful to have such an amazing team taking care of this community! The sunset in this area is also great btw.

  I can’t say enough positive things about this apartment complex and its management. I’ve lived in many apartments over the years in the northern Va area and this management company is top notch. They are attentive, responsive and care about their residents. I highly recommend the Elms.

  Very beautiful area. My 2 children and I moved here about 2 years ago and have nothing but positive things to say.
