Great location but I have had poor experience with management. I also discovered they are offering free movie tickets for good reviews. Don’t know which ones are genuine.

We lived in Manor House and have no complaints. The apartment we were in was spacious with plenty of natural light, loved the hardwood floors and vintage tile in bathroom. The neighborhood is quiet and walkable. The building was secure which makes you feel safe being there. Was a great place to live and would recommend this place to friends

I lived at Manor House for two years. This is a drama free place and I felt at home. The people here are wonderful, everyone is quiet and professional, I made friends in the courtyard, and I truly enjoyed coming home after a long day. Yes, it's an apartment. Yes, you will occasionally hear your neighbors, but in two years I've never had to deal with any drama. The space is a good size for a one bedroom. There is natural light in every room so you don't need to turn on lights until the sun is down, and you don't feel like you are living in a box here. The hardwood floors are lovely, and the crown molding adds a beautiful touch. The bedroom is quite large. We fit a bed, two dressers, a desk and two end tables and still had room to move around! Our kitchen had been completely redone before we moved in, with granite countertops and new appliances. The owners really care about this place. They are always here, the grounds are cared for, the cleaners are here bi-weekly, there's never anything out of place. Any issue we ever had was addressed immediately. You can tell this is a place people enjoy living. Some of the current tenants have lived here for ten years! The Del Ray neighborhood is hands down the nicest place to live in Alexandria, in my opinion. You can walk to Mt. Vernon Avenue and eat and shop, you can walk to the metro in 15 minutes, you can even walk to Old Town and hop on the trolley and get all the way down to the water in about 20 minutes! It's a safe area, currently there's a new restaurant going in across the street, a corner market, a dry cleaner, a nail salon, and the bus stops right in front of the building. I am so glad I chose this place to live when I moved here from Florida. With restaurants nearby, a beer garden, wine shop, and a few parks, we got out and walked after a long day, and enjoyed ourselves! We look back now and realize we lucked out; we chose the best neighborhood and the best apartment complex in the area. You'll love it here. The owners will take care of you and you'll feel like more a tenant, you will feel valued.

We are a married couple in our 30s and have lived in Manor House for nearly 4 years. We are moving out only because we just purchased our first home. We originally moved to the Del Ray neighborhood 7 years ago renting a duplex down the street. We’d walk by Manor House occasionally and were attracted to its curb appeal. Once our last rental went sour we toured an apartment here and loved it even more.
The apartment was a perfect rental for us for many reasons. It was beautiful and charming with wood floors, crown moulding and soft tan-colored walls. The other tenants generally seem to be respectful of their neighbors and of the property. One of the tradeoffs of having beautiful wood floors is that we would hear our neighbors upstairs off and on depending on how conscientious the tenant was, which varied over the 4 years we lived here. Due to musical training we are more sensitive to noise than many, but this was easily remedied by turning the central AC fan on when needed and keeping a white noise machine in the bedroom.
Another advantage of renting at Manor House is that you don’t pay for shared amenities like you would in newer, “luxury” apartments. We knew we would rarely take advantage of a game room or business center, and these amenities are paid for by higher rents. The apartments do not have individual washers and dryers, but we realized that it gave us more usable space. The shared laundry rooms also operate on a reservation system, so you can plan your time and use the laundry machines without the fear of another tenant removing your clothes. Laundry goes by a lot faster when you can use two machines at a time, too!
The Rhodes & Rhodes team of Olivia, Mike, George, and Red are some of the best professionals we have had the pleasure of knowing. They always respond to service requests quickly and let you know when they have serviced your apartment. We will miss them now that we have to get by on our own!
Our default commute is by Metro and we take a shortcut to the Braddock Road station via an alley that turns into Newton Ave and connects to Braddock Road. It’s a little less than a 3/4 mile walk. Del Ray is a wonderful neighborhood to live in and we are happy to be moving close by. We highly recommend Manor House apartments if you’re looking for a well-managed, quiet, clean, charming, and reasonably-priced place to live.
