  This was my first time applying for an apartment, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I was required to pay nearly $300 upfront and was told that if I was not approved, my money would be refunded. After reviewing my application, management informed me that I was “conditionally approved” only if I could provide a guarantor. Since I did not have a guarantor available, I was ultimately unable to move forward with the apartment. What concerns me is that this conditional approval seems to be a loophole that allows them to keep applicants’ money while technically avoiding a denial. In my case, I could not meet the guarantor requirement, so the outcome was effectively the same as being denied, yet I did not receive my money back. I understand that every property has its own policies, but applicants should be clearly informed about how conditional approvals affect refunds before paying hundreds of dollars. I left feeling misled and taken advantage of. I would encourage future applicants to ask detailed questions about refund policies and conditional approvals before submitting any fees.

  To be transparent, I originally provided this complex with 5 stars. The maintenance workers are great. The property is overall well taken care of, however, the leasing office is what changed my rating. Unfortunately in the short time I’ve lived here, the leasing office has gone through 4 property managers. No one seems to stay or they just don’t last long. Each one, tends to know even less about the policies and procedures of the property. This is problematic when your rent is handled through them and they continually drop the ball on communication and follow through. I have now been threatened with a second lease termination notice over short comings of the leasing office. If you want to call to figure it out, good luck. No one answers the phone and when they do, they don’t know the answers to your questions. Stop by the office? Also good luck because they lock the door during “open” hours. If you receive a lease termination notice, that apparently doesn’t mean anything according to them. They just do it to scare the residents into paying. If you have a problem with their rent system, their answer is to figure it out on your own and they won’t be helping you. I would caution you against this property until they are under new, more knowledge, or kinder property managers who care about their community.

  I just moved into this Community at Bren Mar and so far it's been good. The place and grounds are clean. The staff is friendly and all know me by name. The area is quiet and not that busy, the only action I saw that caught my attention is the activity at the near by Elementary school. The parking is ok but between 4pm and 430pm near one of the buildings, you can’t get a parking space because the parents use the apartments parking lot to park and wait for their kids to get off from the school. ***My major Concern here is the Lost/Stolen*** Packages, yes many packages that gets delivered here goes MISSING! They all need to be delivered at the main building so we can pick them up and to sign for them so the right person receives their packages. Someone should really look into that ASAP! Maybe have a concierge be in charge of the deliveries. ***Other than that It's close to a major shopping area and Mall(Springfield Center Mall) about a 5-7 minute drive and the commute to DC is between 20 to 25 minutes tops with traffic!

  Unfortunately the appartment have mice but it is nice place to leave
