HONEST REVIEW FOR OUR 1ST 6-MONTH CONTRACT STARTING JUNE 2024 Things I Like: *Good floorplan/layout *Nice flooring *Appliances are new *Peaceful atmosphere *Nature-friendly landscape Things I Am Disappointed About: *The day before our move-in date (Monday) - we reached out to management to confirm the move-in time, but we did not receive a response. Assuming 9 AM was acceptable, we prepared accordingly. On the move-in day (Tuesday) - when my husband arrived at the management office to check in, he was sent away and told that move-in was not until 2 PM. When he returned at 3 PM, he was informed that the unit we had signed for (second floor unit) was not ready due to unfinished renovations. Instead, he was offered a different unit (ground floor unit) that had been rushed/barely finished with the renovation. Unfortunately, this alternate unit had multiple issues like missing cabinet doors, a new fridge without a handle, unpainted door, unswept patio, broken window glass, leaking bathroom sink, etc. (It’s also worth mentioning that the website description states the unit has a granite countertop, but the countertop in our unit is made of board or wood instead.) Price & Quality: For me, the rent is a bit expensive and is almost the same rate with newer, condo-style apartments with better amenities. The shared utilities billed by the apartment (sewer, water, trash without valet, and fees for the common areas such as the pool and playground) are higher compared to what my friends pay in rentals and homes. While the unit looks newly renovated on the surface, less visible areas were neglected. For example, the insides of our kitchen and bathroom cabinets were repainted but remained in poor condition, and the piping holes in our bathroom and second bedroom were not addressed. New Management: Under the new management, we can see that the apartment is becoming more organized and actively facilitated. To our surprise, the broken window in one of our bedrooms was replaced a few weeks ago. The work order process has also become more efficient. UPDATE Our contract ended on 06/30/25. A week before the contract ended, we started moving-out and cleaning the apartment. On 06/26/25 afternoon we finished cleaning and asked the property manager if we can do a walk-through. She said that she is in the middle of a meeting and they just started so she cannot do it that day - we did not set up an appointment because I asked her multiple times beforehand if there's anything we need to know about the check-out or if there's a process but she did not say anything. We left property and the keys on that day so we don't need to comeback. On 07/01/25, the property manager texted me that she "walked the apartment... and it looks great". I asked her what's going to happen next, and when are we going to get our deposit back. I mainly want to know what's the process and timeline so I know what to expect. I have been following up: calling, emailing every week but they cannot give me a definite answer. I feel like they are delaying the process because they only respond after multiple follow-ups which is tiring and they have various reasons why they couldn't respond promptly like "the system was down", "the manager forgot", "the manager sent it and she's not sure why we did not received it" - I am no longer sure if I trust their words. Today is 07/31/25 and I haven't gotten my deposit back and they still can't give me an answer when I will receive it. I REGRET DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS ENTITY AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. Based on my experience, they have poor process and very unprofessional.
