I would really like to say I liked living here, but between management suddenly disappearing halfway through my lease, and the new management company not getting back to me whenever I ask questions, it has been unfortunately disappointing. The rent is far too high for the quality of the Apartments and management company.
In the middle of my lease, I experienced the cops raiding my neighbors apartment at 1:30 in the morning, waking up all of the people on the floor. I share a wall with these neighbors, I heard and saw them getting taken to the ground and taken away by police. The police screaming that they would shoot. The sounds of the men hitting the floor. A gun was directly outside of our door pointing at our neighbors. We then heard police talking about how many GUNS and DRUGS were in the apartment.
Finding out that this is what I was living next to was horrifying. a couple weeks later maintenance took all of their stuff out of the apartment, I said oh so they didn’t come back from police custody? Maintenance and management had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Not exactly safe. They had no idea the police had raided the building. Not exactly comforting.
The pool is unheated, and the big hot tub is always broken. Hand rails are constantly ripping out of the walls. The entire building smells like weed. And honestly, the lighting is just kind of bad, it’s always dark because of the large next-door buildings. Also, all their fees are not clearly stated in the lease, and you can end up with zero monthly fees, or $300 in monthly fees. You never know. Parking is not included and outrageously expensive, and with the block it is on you need to have locked parking. Really unfortunate, I really wanted to stay here, but it’s just not safe. That and all the homeless people wandering in and out of the pool area and closing themselves in the lockers, asking tenants for money essentially in their own backyard.
I see people getting arrested on the block daily. Cops are always stationed at the beginning and end of every block because of how many homeless people around, and I’m pretty sure the block below is just halfway houses. There’s a 7-Eleven nearby, but even with it being 50 feet away you could never walk to it because it’s surrounded by such sketchy people. Unfortunate to say the least.

Update: I have to take of another star, maybe two depending on how long this goes on. But for the past month, the boiler has been broken and not working consistently. So most of the time no one in the building can use their heaters. I’m wearing layers throughout the apt because it’s freezing, and it’s not even winter yet which I’m very anxious about. Also the internet keeps going out, it was out for a day last week and 2-3 days the week before and then random times for short periods. The on-site laundry isn’t a feature anymore since they closed access to it, which was a major reason for choosing this complex. They said they’re working on setting it up in this building instead, but who knows when that will be. So we are paying $129 a month for internet, over $100 in apt utilities (not including electricity), and don’t even get discounted for the services we are paying for but aren’t receiving and the major inconvenience this is causing.
Previous Review:
The management team here has been incredible to work with. They really pulled through when I had two days to apply for and move into a new apartment. That was above and beyond! And they’ve been so kind since. I even transferred apartments so I could sign a longer lease.
I love the apartment itself. It’s definitely old, not modern, but it’s unique and has character. There’s a lot of storage areas in the apartment, which I appreciate. The south building has a beautiful courtyard to relax in. The location is convenient as well, a 6 minute walk to the grocery store, lots of bus stops, restaurants, bars, bookstores, parks, the Salt Lake Library, City Creek, etc. in walking distance. Plenty of parking around too.
The lack of a star is because I had to do a lot of cleaning when I moved in to both apartments. Don’t expect damage free or pristine condition, again it’s a very old building. But it’s cozy and I like it anyway.

This place feels like home. My neighbors are so nice! The office staff and maintenance are always there if I have questions or need anything.

please please don’t get yourself in a bad situation.
This complex has:
-Beyond dirty water
- Moisture, lots of it causing even paint to fall off the walls
- Mold
- Homeless that wander in the building and back through the parking lot, through the garbage and cars
I saw reviews similar to this after it was too late, wanted to be clear that these are STILL current issues. I have posted pictures that are from the last week for better understanding. (02/01/18)

Nice building, awful, terrible property managers. Just plain old fashion greedy, rude, inconsiderate, condescending landlords. Nicole and dime everything.
