I’m having a hard time with the Kelton Apartments due to the fact that everything they have advertised during our tour they have now gotten rid of with very short notice. Part of the reason we moved in to begin with was it being a “smart home” we since then have been told it’s getting taken away which was super upsetting because that’s why we made the move over here. Then we just recently got an email that we no longer have “Fetch” our delivery system which was another big thing they advertised. I’m sad because we pay quite a bit and we only made the move and were willing to pay more because of the things our apartment would feature. We also use an app called Resman and it tells us how much we owe each month. We’ve had to go to the leasing office 2 separate times to get our real rent amount because they’ll put in random numbers and we know it can’t be right so we have to go in and get the real numbers. Not only that, but our rent usually doesn’t show up until like the 2nd of the month with the 3rd being the last day to make a payment without a late fee being added so it doesn’t give you much time to work with them they should have the rent up sooner so we can be able to see it and plan according.

Horrible place to live when it comes to moving out. They make it very difficult and expensive to leave. Would not recommend living here.

I've really enjoyed living at The Kelton over the past year. The management team has always been friendly and quick to help whenever I've had a maintenance request or needed anything from the office. The online payment portal is easy to use, and it's nice that someone is usually available if I need to stop by or drop off a check. The amenities are kept clean, parking has been easy to find, and the neighborhood has been friendly. In the year I've lived here, I haven't seen any violence or altercations, which has made me feel comfortable living here. Overall, it's been a positive experience, and I'd definitely recommend The Kelton to anyone looking for an apartment.

AI on the answering machines is the worst experience of all time my friends been trying to apply for two days and it’s impossible to get ahold of someone.

Do not trust the positive reviews. They request a review just days after you move in, which seems to happen before you even realize what it is actually like to live here. In my experience, management is completely incompetent. The problems started before we even moved in. They messed up our lease about five different times by putting the wrong rent amounts and dates on the paperwork. Once we finally signed, the lease mysteriously disappeared from the resident portal. Luckily we had downloaded a hard copy. What felt like a massive bait and switch on pricing happened next. We were quoted around $1,300 a month but consistently received bills for about $1,800. While they do mention variable and other fees, it is a take it or leave it situation because they refuse to negotiate the lease. You have absolutely no way of knowing what those variable fees will actually amount to, exactly how they are determined, or if they are even accurate. They constantly tack on vaguely named service fees, and our fees and utilities would randomly fluctuate by hundreds of dollars a month. We were forced to pay a pest control fee despite what I considered to be a massive bug problem in the summer. When we moved into our supposed "newer" unit, it appeared heavily worn. The fridge had a massive dent, the walls were scratched, and a window had a large crack they promised to fix but never did. It took months of us hounding them just to program our key fob. That locked us out of the amenities we were paying for, though it hardly mattered since the pool always seemed to be closed for maintenance. In my view, the parking situation is an absolute scam. I paid extra for a reserved spot. One night a car was parked in my space, so I had it towed. The car was back the next day. Management finally admitted they double-booked the spot to another tenant, but they actually scolded me for calling the tow company because they claimed it cost the complex money. General parking is just as bad. The lot near us was typically full by around 8:00 PM, forcing us to park far away. I personally felt safety was a huge issue here. The parking lot felt sketchy, and the police seemed to be there frequently. When my car was hit in the lot, management told me they only have security cameras for the dog park. As a woman, I never felt safe outside. There often seemed to be strange men loitering around the buildings. One morning I walked out to find a man pacing outside my third-floor door for absolutely no reason. The scariest incident happened late at night when someone started jiggling our front door knob. My husband opened it to find an older man standing there in silence. He eventually claimed to be maintenance. Management ignored our calls about this for days before finally brushing it off as a "mix up." Getting ahold of anyone in the office was nearly impossible for us. They appeared to ignore calls and emails until we threatened to escalate the issue. They seemed to frequently be closed during regular business hours. When we did need maintenance, it felt like they took shortcuts. Our washing machine smelled horrendous, and maintenance just dumped cleaner inside and left. The smell returned an hour later and we had to fix it ourselves. The grounds were also poorly kept, with dog poop and vomit regularly left on the stairs. They ignored our noise complaints about barking dogs, yet they had no problem sending out zero-notice emails stating they were inspecting our apartment that exact same day. Moving out was just as miserable. They hit us with an unexplained "move out service fee" that felt completely bogus. Then they withheld our security deposit past the 30-day legal deadline. They only returned our money with a list of excuses after we had a formal legal letter sent to them. Save your money and your peace of mind. I highly recommend not living here. *edit: their ai response is full of lies. They will never take responsibility even when there’s proof for every statement I put on here.
