This is mostly a note intended for management, but others may find it useful. Joe, the "primary" maintenance supervisor/grounds keeper, once again showed his genuine interest in serving the occupants of Lookout Hollow by fixing an external issue with my HVAC unit without being asked. Oddly, I was planning on finding him to request servicing of my HVAC, but on the day I planned to make the request, he fixed the unit of his own accord by deducing (or assuming) that my unit had accumulated excess dust due to the placement of the unit and the nearby construction (which is nearing completion). I know many multi-unit facilities have maintenance that is "removed," aloof, or unapproachable. Joe is the opposite. He is frequently seen running around the facility, and he is always willing to stop and chat with any resident who has a question or an issue. I've mentioned Joe in a review seven years ago that has now been removed, yet he remains just as efficient, friendly, and helpful. The entire maintenance staff is very good -- I don't want to suggest that only Joe is worthy of recognition. I've just seen Joe, on numerous occasions, think proactively instead of reactively, and I'm always appreciative of someone with that kind of perspective in their job.
