Living here has been nothing short of frustrating. Shortly after moving in, we realized how noisy the complex was, despite being advertised as a community complex in a forested neighborhood. Being near the airport means dozens of flights land overhead each day. On top of the planes, the walls are thin, and you can hear neighbors, highway noise, car troubles in the parking lot, and sometimes gunshots. This complex also advertises the “luxury amenities” it provides, but they are definitely not worth the title. The pool remains dirty with dead wasps and cockroach wings, and the gates rarely work since they now operate through an app. Recently, the gates remained open due to a technical issue for upwards of three weeks, and we could not open the door to our mailbox for over a week. Parking is a hassle despite having to pay for an uncovered spot. During summer hours, you can expect not to have an open spot around your building.
Our personal experience living here was filled with problems. We had problems with our air conditioning unit that resulted in us having no AC for multiple days in the Texas summer heat. Another issue we found was with a roach infestation in our unit. We lived on the third floor and had roaches in our kitchen sink, dishwasher, and guest bathroom for 3-4 months before management permitted ULV extermination pest control service. We asked for help from management every week during this time, and were only given the default service of a “spray” every other week. This infestation was so bad that a roach crawled on my leg while taking a shower, and yet we couldn’t get anything done until management finally allowed more intense care. Additionally, one of our cars got an ant/spider infestation after being parked in our covered parking spot for a few days. We asked management if they could get pest control to spray that specific area, and they said that the company they use does routine sprays every few weeks, but the problem persisted. Also, wasps have continuously built nests on our balcony, making it unusable. We have asked maintenance to get rid of the wasp nests plenty of times, but no change has happened. Wasps have managed to get into our apartment multiple times, through the “closed” screen door, likely due to poor craftsmanship. We looked forward to having a balcony to enjoy, but upon arrival, there was a mound of bird feces from a nest above the screen door. We asked maintenance right away to clean up the mess, but they said they couldn’t interfere with the local wildlife, and it was our responsibility. In recent months, spider nests have been showing up on the wall outside of our front door, leading to many cobwebs that go untouched since our floor is not shown to prospective renters. Evidently, there is a pest problem with this complex that has not gone under review.
Through all of this, you have to deal with a management team that is unresponsive, unorganized, and has poor communication. Each time we brought an issue to the management team, we were met with uncertainty from the front desk team. We would ask a question and be given a response of “I don’t know; I’m not sure; Let me get back to you,” and we would not receive another response. All in all, the management and their communication with their renters is unprofessional, unclear, and makes living here difficult.
Moving out was also a horrible process. We were denied a move-out inspection to get an estimate of what fees could be leftover after moving out, despite trying to set up a date for two weeks prior to moving. After we moved out, we had issues communicating with the front desk and managers to resolve any fees, and we were billed an outrageous amount for normal wear and tear. They also tried to bill us over $100 for a roach treatment, even when we were denied such treatment while living there! The management of this place runs an absolute scam, and I would plead with anyone looking to live here to look anywhere else. It is too expensive and too mismanaged to cause all these problems and headaches.
