Our experience with Residence at London Ridge was deeply disappointing and honestly shocking considering how new the property appears online.
We originally chose to consider this community because it seemed family-friendly and had a playground for children. As parents, that was the main reason we were interested in the property in the first place.
The first visit was acceptable, but the second visit completely changed our impression.
When we returned with our small child, the leasing staff barely acknowledged us and seemed uninterested in helping. We requested to view the apartment one more time before finalizing our decision, and the staff appeared disorganized and unsure what unit to show us. Eventually, we were taken to an apartment that was dirty, poorly prepared, and not suitable for a showing.
What made the experience even worse was being made to walk across the entire property in the middle of the day under extreme Texas heat with a small child, despite the fact that golf carts are normally used for tours. We walked there and back while the leasing agent acted visibly irritated and provided almost no information during the tour.
After returning to the office overheated and exhausted, not even a basic courtesy such as offering water was extended to us. That may sound minor to some people, but it says a lot about the level of professionalism and customer care at this property.
As we walked through the community, we noticed large amounts of dog waste left throughout the grassy areas, overflowing trash areas with garbage scattered around them, broken gates, and old holiday debris and confetti that had clearly not been cleaned up for a long time. Although the buildings are relatively new, the property already looked neglected and poorly maintained.
For families with children, cleanliness and safety matter. Unfortunately, this community did not feel clean, organized, or properly managed.
One very uncomfortable moment happened when a current resident quietly warned us not to rent there because we would “regret it.” The resident immediately stopped speaking after receiving a harsh look from the leasing staff, which was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional to witness.
We also asked simple and reasonable questions regarding move-in timing because we were coordinating housing for our family with a child. Instead of receiving clear communication, we were essentially told: “If the apartment is not ready, then you just won’t move in.” There was no professionalism, empathy, or attempt to explain how situations like that are normally handled.
Despite all of these concerns, we still submitted an application. However, less than 24 hours later, my husband unexpectedly received a job offer in another city, and we immediately contacted the leasing office to withdraw the application before any processing had begun. At that time, they were still waiting for additional documents from us and had specifically stated they would not start reviewing the application until all required paperwork was received.
We politely requested consideration for a refund of the application fee due to the circumstances and the fact that no processing had started. Initially, we were told management would review the request. After that, communication stopped completely. Emails were ignored, phone calls were dismissed, and the professionalism we hoped for disappeared entirely.
This experience left us extremely disappointed. Based on how we were treated before even becoming residents, I cannot imagine dealing with this management team after signing a lease.
I would strongly caution families to thoroughly research this property before making a decision.
