The assistant manager, is the most dismissive person I’ve met in this complex. After reaching out by email, phone, in person about the smell of smoke, she claims we never complained. Thankfully I saved all my emails and communications with her and the rest of the front office. A previous phone call, she admitted things were handled incorrectly by previous management, but kept insisting two wrongs don’t make a right. She clearly admitted a lot of issues were not resolved. So yeah, this place always stinks, whether is feces or smoke. The front gate has been broken for weeks, perhaps months now. They first said the gates were fixed and now current residents can’t use their remotes to come in. The complex has admitted verbally and in writing that they are not working, but hope a vendor will come out to fix them soon. In the case of an emergency, I doubt police, firefighters, and EMS would be able to come in and help someone in distress. To me this sounds like a code violation since emergency personnel cannot enter the property. If you are looking for a quiet place to live in, please look otherwise. This place is very noisy with people’s loud music at all times of the day. You can even feel the loud vibrations from their sound systems. The same tenants have been causing noise, but management doesn’t seem to do anything about it. Pool is closed half the time. Sometimes it’s for vandalism or unauthorized people. This last email confirms the pool was closed because something broke again. This place is advertised as luxury living but the place is pretty outdated and there is nothing luxurious about the units. I mean the ground is not leveled properly and the countertops are uneven. You can even see the bad paint job in your unit. They expect everyone to uphold the lease obligations but they are violating their end of the agreement. There are newer, better, and decently priced apartments in the area. Why would someone lease here when they can have something so much better down the road. I’m hoping the competition from the upcoming apartments forces management to improve The Anderson. I know, the generic response will say they are sorry and will work to address these issues and to contact them if we need anything. How about actually resolving these problems.

Let me start by saying that we have lived here for years so this will be a long review. TL;DR version is that there are newer, cheaper and better managed places down the road. Management here is a revolving door. You never know who you will get and what kind of assistance they are actually willing to provide. Oftentimes you will get no response back at all. Not ideal when problems arise and they will arise. Gates: The backgate to the property is always broken. Either only one side opens or the entire gate is coned off. The front gates are also often broken and left wide open. This has led to solicitors of all types such as internet sales, moving companies, etc.. This has also caused multiple car break ins which are well documented if you take a look at the other real reviews of this complex. Please note many of the positive reviews for the complex are due to the leasing office offering residents a chance to win things such as a Ring camera or a Stanley cup if a 5 star review is provided. We understand that things break but they should not be down for weeks or months at a time. We have been told that a vendor is in charge of gate maintenance but this is still a code compliance issue as well as false advertising since the website talks about “controlled access gates”. Stray cats as well as strangers have wandered into the property. The cats will find their way onto your balcony as well as sleep on or under your car. I have a cat allergy so this has not been ideal. We have seen a stranger urinate in the front of the property near the electrical box and this is not a sight that anyone wants to see. Pest Control: We pay a monthly fee for pest control and they do not always come as scheduled. We have to put in the request order through the complex’s maintenance system. The complex will mark the order as completed before pest control shows up and completes their service. From speaking to the pest control technician, we have learned that they are often sent away by the leasing staff if they arrive “too late” in the day. There is a well known German cockroach problem at the complex which has been well documented by multiple tenants and not hard to find when doing your own research on this community. There are also ants everywhere in the mail room so you will have to watch your step. We once had staff enter our apartment to complete fire extinguisher testing while we were not home. They left the spare key in our door. This is incredibly dangerous. We kept the spare key in our apartment until months later when we were asked if the office could make a copy. We gave it back and didn’t receive an apology or even an offer to change our locks due to their own error. No Smoking: There is a no smoking rule. However, we had a former leasing office employee living on the same floor as us. We have observed someone smoking as well as grilling on their balcony. Both of which we could not report due to the fear of retaliation and we have no idea if they are friends with the other staff members. The list of problems goes on and on and on. Please do not rent here if you are looking for an apartment. If you are a current tenant here, please do not renew your lease either. If you reach out to me, I will put you in touch with some fantastic apartment locators and realtors who will assist.

Personally, I don't think it's fair to live here, starting with how rude and hateful the management is. I had a cockroach problem, they never change the air filters, once we got up late and forgot to take out the trash and they charged me a $50 fine and sent me many emails insisting I pay. And to top it off, other apartments just like mine pay $1179 and I pay $1349. I went to talk to them and they simply said they got here on a promotion. They can never give you a solution, they just get serious about editing contracts and showing them to you, saying that's what you signed. The new manager and the secretary are both awful, and that pool is never clean. The security guard is just as hateful and intimidates us as if we were criminals. Think carefully before coming here, and you won't be like me, regretting it and waiting for the day my contract ends so I can finally leave these apartments.
