This is one of the best complexes I have resided in. I am moving out due to personal circumstances but I would like to acknowledge that Anastasia and her team have been very helpful, attentive, and accommodating through this process. Along with them, the on-site maintenance man, Danny, has also went above and beyond any time I’ve had a maintenance issue. Often, he would show up within less than 5 minutes. The amenities here are up to par and the surrounding area is a quiet neighborhood in comparison to most San Antonio properties I have lived in. Overall, this has been a great experience and I would do it again.

I strongly advise against living at Hilltop at Shavano. The area itself is nice, but safety and security do not seem to be a priority for management at all. In just the a few months we’ve lived here, our tires were stolen, and there have been ongoing issues with vehicle break-ins and thefts throughout the complex. Within the first month of moving in, a neighbor warned me not to leave anything valuable in my car and to always keep it locked because of how common these incidents are.
On top of that, the mailboxes have been repeatedly broken into, yet the leasing staff does little to address or improve security concerns. It’s frustrating to see the same problems continue without meaningful action being taken.
How many broken mailboxes, stolen vehicles, and stolen tires does it take before management finally does something to protect its residents? I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a safe place to live
I’ve lived here for over three years, and like any long-term resident, I’ve seen a lot of change and turnover over time. Recently, things have felt much more stable and organized.
Anastasia and Denise have really helped calm things down and bring a stronger sense of structure to the community. You can tell there’s been more consistency in how things are being handled day to day.
Overall, the community is well-maintained and improving. If you’re considering living here, I’d recommend stopping by and seeing it for yourself—you’ll get a good feel for the property and how it’s currently being managed. After noticing people that don’t have the same experience as me, I felt like I had to share.

Don’t fall for the new 5star reviews that they offer new tours in exchange for waived fees.
Believe the older reviews because there hasn’t been a change and those of us that live here will not be renewing but we can’t afford to break our lease.
After living here over 2 years and seeing a constant change in office staff I am here to share my experience.
When I moved in I was told my apartment was an upgrade. ( painted over the original cabinets with cheap paint that scratches off)
I was told I’d have stainless steel appliances and ended up getting the black appliances. After complaining that I’m paying for an “upgrade” I was able to transfer.
Now I am in a roach infested building. I had to buy outlet covers to prevent them from coming in thru the wall outlets and had to cover up any holes because they didn’t do a good job at inspecting.
constant AC issues the supervisor lacks knowledge & experience on fixing the air conditioner and continues to add Freon that will last 2-3 days and we are back to the same issue
There’s only 1 pool for this big property and it’s always dirty
Trash is makes the property smell bad
Maintenance lives on site you see golf carts parked by their building all the time
We have heard one of the maintenance guys having domestic violence incidents and nothing has been done this causes discomfort to those of us that live here
My most recent experience with the blonde leasing agent was that she would close the office on Saturdays during business hours.
We had to pick up our mail at local post office because mail boxes are constantly being broken into I was basically forced to just get a PO Box.
gates are either left open or won’t open to let you out I’ve been stuck waiting with a line of cars and office will not answer the phone
Vehicles are not safe here be prepared to have broken windows
after seeing all the new reviews I felt I had to speak up on the truth of living here

I did a walk-in and I’m really glad I stopped by. Anastasia helped me out and she was super knowledgeable, very put together, and just handled everything so professionally without making it feel forced. The community itself is really nice. It doesn’t feel like a typical apartment complex—it’s quieter, there are a lot of trees, and the landscaping makes it feel more relaxed and homey compared to other places I’ve seen nearby. One thing that stood out to me was the crown molding in the apartment. You honestly don’t see that much anymore, and it gave the space a little extra character. Overall, really solid experience for a walk-in. I’d definitely recommend checking it out. The Hill Country view is to die for !!! 🤩
