This place is DISGUSTING!! If I could give it negative starts I would. The trash area is not tended to so there are piles of garbage overflowing in the dumpster, old furniture left around and litter around the whole complex creating a horrible pest problem (inside and outside the apartments). Car tires are stolen often and the cars are left on bricks for days. People leave let their dogs use the bathroom all over the complex and don’t clean it. This is not even half of the things that go on OUTSIDE the actual apartments and the INSIDE is no better. When asking management to come fix things they say they will come but never do. They also don’t do routine maintenance. No routine maintenance means clogged filters and vents causing mold inside the apartment. They don’t clean the filters or vent in the apartments and they don’t give you carpet cleanings when you renew your lease (which they should be doing). They also leave eviction notices on your door BEFORE the 1st of the month (meaning even when your rent is paid up to date you are likely to come home with an eviction notice on your door). This has happened more than a few times. If you plan on moving here my only advice is “DO NOT DO IT!” Because when you do and you realize how bad this apartment complex is and you decide to move out they like to give you “move out fees” for “damages to the apartment” that isn’t even damage if they did routine maintenance in the apartments. This definitely should not be done since it was not included in any lease and if management was actually coming to do routine maintenance like they should be doing there wouldn’t be mold and vermin in peoples apartments.

Do not move here. What started as a seemingly "nice" property deteriorated drastically over the years. Management does not care about tenant health, safety, or basic living conditions. Health & Maintenance Hazards Active Mold & Fungi: We had severe mold growth that ruined many of our valuable belongings. By the time we vacated, there was literally a mushroom growing in our living room floor. I asked for them to bring out someone who specialized in mold and show me PROOF that their wasn’t anymore active mold in the unit that would cause my child, my husband or myself health issues. They stated that their maintenance men were qualified….. a JOKE. Toxic Maintenance Practices: Maintenance's solution to toxic mold was spraying heavy bleach directly inside our unit while my baby and I were actively in the apartment. The chemical fumes were so intense I had to take my child to the doctor because he was completely clogged up and getting a fever. Management’s only fix was offering a hotel stay while it "aired out." Even after submitting a doctor's note, they refused to let us break our lease cleanly. Unusable Amenities & Safety Issues Pest & Trash Issues: If you live anywhere near the dumpster, prepare to deal with massive roaches. Broken Security & Parking: Parking is a nightmare, the security gates are broken continuously, and cars are regularly left sitting on cinder blocks in the lot. Problematic Neighbors: We dealt with constant, loud neighbors for months while i was freshly postpartum. For months their excuse was “its moving in noise” it got to a point that i thought i was going insane”. In fact we were forced to move between two different units because a downstairs neighbor from the first unit would aggressively bang on his ceiling at all hours and come pound on our door while we were asleep in bed. Management was fully aware of his history, yet they made us pay a $600 transfer fee just to move units to escape the harassment. Greedy Management When we finally had to abandon the apartment two months early due to the unbearable conditions of the mold and just not feeling it was a safe environment for my child, the absolute best management could offer was a paltry 4-day early termination—and to top it all off, they still had the nerve to charge us $79 after we moved out. If you have the means, move to the newer apartment complex down the road and completely stay away from The Retreat.
