Absolutely do your research before signing here!!!
If you’re considering moving into Oak Creek Apartments, please do your research and seriously consider looking elsewhere. I’m counting down the days until my lease is over. If I could rate it 0 stars I would.
When we originally signed our lease, residents were able to dispose of their trash directly in the onsite dumpsters. Management later locked the dumpster doors and essentially forced residents into valet trash, without providing accessible dumpsters onsite for residents to use themselves. For a period of roughly a month or two, valet trash was only being picked up Monday through Thursday, meaning residents accumulated trash over the entire weekend with no clear alternative for where we were supposed to dispose of it.
I specifically asked the leasing office where residents were supposed to take their trash after the dumpsters were locked. I never received a clear answer. Now residents are being sent violations for trash-related issues, which is incredibly frustrating when management has restricted access to the dumpsters and there is no readily available onsite alternative.
The trash situation also created a major pest and sanitation concern. Residents were left with bags of trash sitting around, odors, and liquids leaking from trash bags. This should not be the situation residents are put in simply because management changed how trash disposal works.
Unfortunately, the trash situation is only one of many problems. Communication with the front office has been extremely frustrating. You often feel like you are bothering them simply by calling or asking a question, and getting a straightforward answer can be difficult.
I also requested a property transfer months ago because I wanted to avoid breaking my lease. I never received a response. I followed up, attempted to call again, and still couldn’t get a meaningful response. That experience made it very clear to me that the lack of communication isn’t limited to the onsite office.
There are also ongoing issues with children running around the property without adequate adult supervision. I’ve personally seen children in the roadway while vehicles are passing through, and there have been resident complaints about near-misses, vehicles being damaged, and other disturbances.
On top of all of that, the walls are extremely thin. You can hear an unreasonable amount of noise from neighboring units, which makes it difficult to have the peace and privacy you would expect in your own apartment.
Overall, my experience has been extremely disappointing. Between the trash situation, pest concerns, poor communication, lack of follow-through, noise, and general management issues, I would not recommend Oak Creek Apartments.
If you’re apartment hunting, please take the time to read the reviews, ask very specific questions about trash disposal and management policies, and tour the property at different times of day before signing a lease. I’m personally counting down the days until I can leave.
