  I have lived at Scharbauer Flats for the past 2½ years. For most of that time, I didn’t have any major issues. Unfortunately, everything changed after I stopped assisting the Community Manager with certain things and began speaking up about concerns. Since then, I have felt like I was targeted by the Assistant Manager. At one point, she even took a picture of me sitting in my car over a parking sticker/pass that had originally been given to me by the Community Manager when I first moved in. There were several other incidents that made me feel harassed on a regular basis. When I questioned things or pointed out concerns that I believed were being misrepresented, instead of addressing the issues, I felt like management began trying to push me out of my apartment. The biggest issue has been the roach infestation. After an eviction, furniture and belongings from a roach-infested apartment were placed beside my unit. Since then, I have been dealing with roaches every day. This started in April, but pest control was not sent to my apartment until July, despite my repeatedly reporting the problem. To protect myself, I communicated through email because conversations in person often changed later. Instead of taking responsibility for the delay, the Community Manager suggested that the infestation was caused by me not taking out my trash every day. After living here for over two years without this problem, that explanation made no sense and felt insulting. Rather than addressing the source of the infestation, I was blamed. Another concern I have is the way residents are treated when they have questions or concerns. Management is often argumentative instead of listening and trying to resolve the issue. It feels like if you’re calling to make a payment, they’re willing to talk. But when you’re expressing a concern about your apartment or how you’re being treated, your voice doesn’t matter. As a resident, you should feel heard and respected, not dismissed. I also reached out to the Regional Manager hoping my concerns would be taken seriously. Unfortunately, I never received a meaningful response from her. Everything continued to be handled by the Community Manager. I have videos documenting the conditions I have been living in and what I have had to deal with every single day. No resident should have to wake up and fight roaches every morning while being told they are the problem. I previously worked for this company, and now I have experienced what it is like to live in one of its communities. It has given me a completely different perspective. My advice to anyone considering moving here is to read both the positive and negative reviews carefully. Every resident’s experience is different, and mine has been one of feeling unheard, blamed, dismissed, and treated unfairly.

  I really like this place, it’s spacious and comfortable but what they dis to us was absolutely unfair. We got dogs and they told us to get rid of them because they went old enough and because we also needed to pay for them. We asked many resident here and we were told they were younger than one year and they didn’t have to pay. When we returned them. My kids were very depressed about that because they ment so much to them. They also were still telling us to pay a fee because they said we never returned them which we did on May 29th because the adoption center made a schedule on that. And now they might not ever see them again. The staff are also not very nice.

  Piensen bien si se quieren rentar aquí quieren pegar multa por todo así no esté en el contrato te ponen otros y te detallan algo lo más mínimo que le moleste al de mantenimiento o la oficina no sé que sucede pero eso parece que no es una convivencia comunitaria
