Don’t move here unless you like having light bills over $400 because the apartments are old with single pane windows, my unit and several others don’t even have a screen on the window and I live on the third floor. You cannot open the windows. You can barely crack them. Some can be opened, slightly but most won’t budge. If you decide to move here , by all means, do not get an apartment with a garage. Many times I come home and I cannot park in my garage because someone is parked outside blocking it and today makes my fourth time not being able to go to work unless I choose to pay for an Uber because someone has me blocked in my garage. They won’t get towed unless management has previously issued a warning sticker which they will gladly do that if they are open.
I don’t know what it is about this particular location, but we have power outages frequently and they last several hours if not all night. All packages have to go to the package concierge office, which frequently get left in the facility on the floor instead of in a package locker because they are already full. Packages are stolen boxes are opened and left in the concierge office or best case scenario the delivery people will put it in the locker and attach it to another resident and you receive a notification saying it’s delivered but you go there and there’s no package. All you can hope
for is that an honest neighbor will bring your package to your door. I also want to note that it is embarrassing when guests come over and see old appliances sitting in the breezeways for weeks at a time. There is a refrigerator on one floor by the stairs and a water heater on the next floor that has been there for well over a month.
The only good thing I can say about El Lago is that the staff is friendly and responsive also the maintenance team will usually respond to your service request the same day. I don’t want my bad rating to reflect on the people but more so the property. Let’s do better.

My experience with El Lago management has been frustrating because of inconsistent information, poor accountability, and serious concerns about the accuracy of resident records.
On July 3, I went to the office specifically to make sure rent was paid on time and avoid late fees. I had funds available and was prepared to pay directly. An employee helped me use Livable, checked the account, and told me the payment had been received and the balance was $0. I specifically asked whether processing time could cause a late fee and was told it would not. I sent the recorded conversations about this to management.
The ledger later showed the payment posted on July 6, and late fees were added. The employee acknowledged that she saw the payment on July 3 and told me the account was clear, but management initially relied only on the ledger date and refused to take responsibility for the information their employee provided. Had I been told the payment was pending, I would have paid another way before leaving. On the ledger it even says payments made wont reflect on the ledger until next business day. July 3rd was a Friday and so the payment didnt reflect on the ledger until July 6th.
A second issue occurred on July 27. A maintenance request was created for our apartment claiming the guest bedroom was not cooling. We did not submit or authorize the request, and there was no such issue. The request showed “OneSite Facilities (ADMIN)” as the submitter, but imported information identified one of us as the requester.
The work order also stated “NO PETS ON LEASE,” even though management had already been notified that my dog is an approved assistance animal and the related fee had been credited. Updated documentation was also sent directly to management.
Because the request indicated that a resident did not need to be present, maintenance could have relied on inaccurate information and entered believing no animal was inside. That created an avoidable safety concern for us, our assistance animal, and maintenance staff.
The request was later cancelled, but we are still waiting for a clear explanation of who created it, why our information was used, whether anyone attempted entry, and whether the animal warning and resident records were corrected.
These issues have caused unnecessary stress and disrupted our ability to work peacefully from home. Residents should be able to rely on information from office staff and trust that maintenance requests and account records are accurate. Until management fully resolves these issues and improves communication and accountability, I cannot recommend this property.

I put in 2 maintenance tickets. They came and completed one successfully but didn’t do the other and marked both as completed. The one I completed I’ve made a request for 3 times now and it’s not fixed but marked completed yet again

I lived here for 3 years the management was excellent, clean environment although the stairs are not cleaned they are very dirty. I now have a problem when I moved out I ordered stuff online and by the time I realized it was late and were dropped at my apartment at El lago went to the office to report and the staff was so rude saying that I should report at McKinney PD coz there’s nothing she can do. I thought this was very unprofessional coz I should her pictures of the stuff that had been delivered, the door number etc. Am very disappointed
