Unfortunately, my recent experience with customer care has changed that perception. I recently discovered metal nails protruding through the carpet on my staircase. My nephew stepped on one and suffered a puncture wound to his foot. Because the nails were hidden beneath the carpet, we had no way of knowing they were there. When I contacted customer care, I was told that since I have owned the home for over a year, there was nothing they could do and that I should hire another contractor to fix the issue. I am extremely disappointed with this response. A safety hazard like nails sticking up through a staircase should not exist, and I expected more accountability and concern from Pulte. While my home-buying experience was positive, the handling of this issue has left me feeling let down.
