  Overall, I want to say that other than this ongoing issue, I have been extremely happy with this community. The community itself is very nice, and I especially want to recognize the maintenance team. They have always been extremely efficient, work hard, and do an amazing job. I genuinely appreciate the work they put in and the way they take care of the property. However, I feel it is important to share my experience with an ongoing issue that has unfortunately had a major impact on my time living here. Since June, I have been dealing with a persistent marijuana/weed smell coming into my apartment, with the smell being especially strong in my bedroom. I have contacted the apartment management/office multiple times and have communicated with them about the situation. I appreciate that they have communicated with me, but unfortunately, despite the communication, there has not been a reasonable solution that has actually resolved the problem. I understand that there is a process the apartment has to follow when dealing with complaints like this, and I also understand that people smoke. However, when the smell becomes so strong that it affects a tenant’s ability to comfortably live in their own home, I believe something more needs to be done. I have explained that this situation has affected my sleep, work, breathing, and ability to comfortably use my bedroom. It has gotten to the point where I had to miss out on the only opportunity I had to have my father stay with me for his birthday weekend. I barely get to see my father because of his condition, and unfortunately, he cannot safely stay in my apartment when the marijuana smoke smell is this strong because exposure to smoke can trigger an asthma attack for him. Missing that time with him was extremely upsetting to me, especially because this situation has been ongoing for months. It is frustrating to pay so much money for an apartment and feel like I can’t even comfortably use one of the main rooms because of an ongoing smell that has been present since June. My bedroom is actually the area where the smell is strongest, which makes it even more difficult because I should be able to comfortably sleep and live in my own bedroom. I have tried communicating, I have followed the appropriate channels, and I have been patient. My frustration is not that management hasn’t communicated with me. My frustration is that the communication has not resulted in an effective solution, while I am still the person having to live with the problem every day. I will be moving out in November, and honestly, it is sad to look back and realize that I have been dealing with this since June. It feels like I may be leaving before the issue is ever truly resolved. I want to be fair because I do understand that there are procedures that management has to follow, and I am not saying that the community is bad overall. In fact, I have been very happy with the community, the property, and especially the maintenance team. My review is specifically about how this particular situation has been handled and the impact it has had on my quality of life. I hope management takes situations like this more seriously in the future and finds ways to address them that actually improve the living conditions for the residents who are affected. It shouldn’t be considered resolved simply because a complaint was received or communication took place. The residents still have to live with the outcome. (The picture is my bed in the living room because I can’t sleep in the bedroom anymore due to the horrible smell)

  I wanted to come here to share with anyone out there looking for a new home, Edgewater is the place! Every morning is peaceful waking up and getting ready to work! Especially with the maintenance crew giving the motivation to go get it! Also big shout to Presleigh for any assistance I need she’s there! Shoutout to Edgewater
