Sadly, I did not enjoy my experience living at Discovery at the Realm. There were multiple times the AC units went out in the heat of summer, and were not fixed for several days. There were multiple times in which both elevators in the building were out of service, and again not fixed for several days. This was a headache when living on the top floor with a dog that experiences discomfort from walking up and down stairs. On more than one occasion, there was an issue with building fire alarms going off at random times. One night between the hours of 11pm-3am, the fire alarms in the building went off an upwards of five times. The front gates of the apartment were broken most of the time I lived there. This allows non-residents to easily access the property and its facilities (pool and dog parks.) Cleanliness was a recurring issue. On one occasion, someone vomited directly in front of the elevator. On another occasion, there was what I presume to be human waste (diarrhea) inside the elevator itself. Neither was cleaned up promptly. The leasing office staff and maintenance workers were actually extremely kind and understanding when issues were brought up (especially Eddie and Kayley.) My personal opinion is that the property management company is not giving the proper attention to this apartment complex that it needs. All in all, I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone at the moment.

I've lived in a lot of apartments. The folks at Discovery have been an absolute pleasure to work with. They treat me like a tenant, rather than just another corporate number, and I appreciate that. Shout out to the folks in the office for their hard work and appreciation!

RED FLAGS: NEVER ANY PARKING. PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIVE HERE ALWAYS TAKING TENETS PARKING. THEY NEED TO START TOWING ALL CARS THAT DON'T BELONG HERE AFTER 9PM CAUSE WE HAVE TO WAIT 10-15MIN TO FIND PARKING. IT'S FRUSTRATING. (ESPECIALLY AFTER A LONG DAY OF WORK). ELEVATOR HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR 3 MONTHS (Something about a specific part that needs to be custom made or ordered. I just think property owner don't want to fix it.) AC GOES OUT ON AND OFF AND THEY HAVE HAD TWO DIFFERENT HVAC COMPANIES TRY TO FIX IT. The STAFF AND Maintenance Team here have always been professional, EASY TO TALK TO AND I understand the amount of work that goes into trying to fix every repair in a huge apartment complex but I strongly believe that the AC issue is out of their control. AC has NOT been working/going out multiple times this year and it's out again as I am writing this review (UPDATE: MAINTENANCE CAME IN AND DID A GREAT JOB FIXING IT). It can be 81 degrees with 83% humidity and it can rise up 90 degrees when the sun is at it's peek (last time ac was out for 3-4 days!!!) They had two different HVAC companies (from what I seen this year) try to fix it and NOTHING has been keeping the AC running. It is frustrating.

As my time living here comes to an end, I wanted to share an honest review. This was my first ever apartment on my own, and it has definitely been a positive experience. Far from perfect, but it’s apartment living, and the complex is huge, what can you expect? Starting with the positives - obviously, the complex itself is absolutely breathtaking. When I was touring apartments, the lake and gorgeous greenery was what sold me right away. There are lots of unique layouts to choose from with the units, and with five different buildings, you really get to choose a living situation that suits your needs. On top of that, most of the folks that work at the leasing office are incredibly kind. Eddie, Deja, and Erica all helped me so much with my moveout process, and Eddie especially was helpful throughout my time living there whenever I had issues or questions. In the photos, you can also see the dog park. I really liked that there was not one, but two dog parks to enjoy - one of them being incredibly spacious and open, perfect for dogs like mine that love to run. In terms of utilities, internet setup was easy, I never once had water or electricity issues, and the cost of everything was not terrible. Now there are some negatives I would not feel comfortable leaving unaddressed. For starters, the reviews about the HVAC - they are definitely true, and I myself had to move buildings halfway through my lease due to not having heat or air conditioning for long periods of time, multiple times. The first building I lived in (3) was apparently so bad with HVAC issues, that when I complained enough, the best solution I was given was to move to one of the buildings with their newer HVAC system, (buildings 4 & 5.) This was not a big issue for me, because my living situation changed at the time anyway, and I wanted to move to a different unit regardless. However, it really sucked not having heat during the state wide freeze we experienced, and on the hotter days with no AC, I couldn’t leave the house without being concerned about my husky overheating. Another big issue was security. For the majority of my lease, the gates were broken. When they did work, it would literally last a day or two, until the weekend hit and miraculously one of the gates would be propped open and broken, making the pool a free for all. It was incredibly frustrating hearing the noise from the pool parties every weekend, especially knowing most of the people at the pool probably didn’t even live here. My shifts start at 4 AM, and I can recall multiple mornings of taking my dog out before leaving for work at around 3 AM, and hearing music & loud chatter at the pool. The supposed rules around security are pretty much nonexistent. Also - the grills have never once worked 😭 so don’t be fooled by those. All in all, this was definitely not a bad experience by any means. If you are planning on moving here, I would highly recommend choosing buildings 4 or 5, as those ones seem to be the newer builds with significantly less HVAC issues. The complex is clean, and you can see staff on the daily mopping, picking up trash, doing maintenance, which is really nice. Not every resident I came across was necessarily kind, but the ones that were, made it feel like a real community. I don’t think I would ever live here again, but I am grateful for the time that I did, and wish the best for the future of the complex.
