  Never would have thought the free wifi was going to be the only big issue. You want to play a phone game? Prepare for the red flashing internet symbol on your phone every 15s, and to lag in every phone game. You want to do work? Prepare to wait 5-10s for webpages to load in 2026. You want to play computer games? Prepare for no wired connection offered and to constantly lag and even completely DISCONNECT from the game. I cannot stay silent about this anymore.

  *DO NOT RENT HERE* I was a resident at Tower5040 from 2024 until 2026, and I couldn't get out fast enough. 1. Do not believe any 4 or 5 star rating, the office offers people gift cards to get them to rate well. 2. There is a roach infestation so bad that I had roaches crawling into my car when it was parked in the garage. The roaches are in the walls, hallways and garage and the apartment regularly lies about pest control stoping by. In fact, after I moved my brand new coffee maker out I found some in there as well because they were in most apartment too. 3. If you rent here, you will be woken up between the hours of 1 and 3am once is a while to a blaring fire alarm so loud that the building has to evacuate and call the fire department because it hurts people's ears. 4. The elevators stop working on a regular basis, and the apartment refuses to hire anyone to fix them and lies about "parts being needed", leaving the entire 8 story complex with 1 elevator that barely works, for months on end. 5. The leasing office operates in a highly unprofessional manner. Not only did they lie to me and tell me I "had a package" to get me to go to the office so they could try to convince me to renew my lease, but they regularly lie about the manager being busy to dodge phone calls and meetings from residents with concerns. 6. Rent is ridiculously high. There is nothing luxurious about the apartments, they are standard and up to par with any other complex in Third Ward where you won't pay over $1,000/month for a room in a 4 bedroom with multiple roommates. The only good things about the complex are the labor staff, the ONE janitor and ONE maintenance team for the entire 8 story building who work very hard to address complaints, and are far more responsive then the leasing office or manager have ever been, but even they can't fix these things and it's disheartening that they are left to deal with these issues as well.

  Pros- close to campus Cons- Elevators always broken, especially the main elevator Trash bags sit piled high in one spot on each floor since they don’t have a trash chute. The staff collect them from each door and then just pile them in one specific spot. Disgusting! The halls always smells like weed.

  I had the most stressful experience at this apartment. They had to keep drilling holes in the walls to fix problems, and I had to live with holes in the walls like this. I had to live in this condition for 1-2 months. The whole process of constantly having to ask management for help and visit them to fix issues was extremely difficult. Considering I was paying over $1,200 for a 4-bedroom apartment, their response was very disappointing. The frequently broken elevator was also quite a nuisance. Roach & trash problems are serious as well. Personally, I would not recommend this place if you are looking for a comfortable apartment near UH.

  Management is so helpful they helped my mom and I so much! Especially Helen she was so sweet and really did her best with making sure I had the best experience at Tower! Maddie is also very very sweet if you guys want to ever talk to someone talk to those 2 they’re amazing and very helpful my experience with management was amazing
