I honestly do not know where to begin. Since the management change, Caldwell Apartments has declined significantly in cleanliness, professionalism, and overall quality of living.
The property is frequently dirty and poorly maintained. On any given day, you may find garbage left in the elevators, stairwells, or common areas. It is disappointing to see what this community has become.
Even more concerning has been my experience with the leasing office. In my experience, rules and lease violations have not been enforced consistently. I have witnessed Black tenants and other residents being cited or confronted for conduct that appears to be overlooked when other tenants engage in the same behavior. Because of that pattern, I believe there are serious concerns about discriminatory and racially biased treatment that management should be required to address.
The leasing staff can also be extremely rude, dismissive, and indifferent when residents raise legitimate concerns. My interactions with Yvette, in particular, have been consistently unpleasant and unprofessional. Instead of making residents feel heard, the attitude often feels as though residents are an inconvenience.
As for the property manager, Desiree, I have been extremely disappointed with the lack of accountability and responsiveness under her leadership. When residents are paying substantial amounts of money to live somewhere, basic cleanliness, professionalism, fair treatment, and competent management should not be considered unreasonable expectations.
Do not allow attractive amenities, move-in incentives, or a polished leasing presentation to distract you from the day-to-day reality of living here. A beautiful apartment means very little when the property is poorly maintained and residents feel disrespected or treated unfairly.
Caldwell used to be a place I could speak positively about. Unfortunately, based on my experience since the management change, I can no longer recommend it.
