Thankfully, this lease agreement ends after two years of mismanagement, unclear charging, lack of listening and just poor judgement by management.
My daughter moved here against my advice, following friends during her stay in Denton as a student at UNT.
I will not spend all day on this, but here are some highlights:
-Getting charged for rental insurance when we posted rental insurance. 6 months of asking it to be credited, never happened.
-Move in day: place was not even made ready. Stains on the carpet, dingy walls, ect. Two months in, a flood upstairs leaked down into the apartment. After weeks of complaining someone came in and doused the carpeted and affected areas with a chemical that left a smell for months. Headaches. Bad sleep. When I asked for action, nothing happened.
Year two: Posted fees for things that we did not need, but was told nothing could be done with it. Did not sign up for Catalyst Credit Reporting, yet charged every month. Original lease contained electricity as our only responsibility, yet water charged as well.
Many, many more. I would make sure you read all the fine print, and cover all bases. Management is inept, doesn't care, and is not available much to solve issues.
Today I paid the last rental payment. She is supposed to move out on the 27th, which means I am paying for 4 days that she wont be living there. I guess I don't care anymore.
Champagne on Ice. Waiting for that day.
