  Very loud lawn mowers EARLY in the MORNING makes this apartment complex inhospitable. If you're looking for a new home and enjoy to sleep peacefully, don't move to The Dakota.

  Some stranger wandered into my garage day one when I moved in and stole my stuff, +1 star for an apartment hottub that actually works though 😼 Update: my bike was stolen 3 weeks after this review was written

  If you’re going to move here beware!!! This morning (4/16/26) I found out my car wheels AND tires were stolen last night. This gate to get into the apartment complex has been open all week, so anyone can come in anytime. And coincidentally my car was right next to the open gate. Now I don’t completely blame the Dakota for this happening, but they have security 24/7 and i just don’t understand how they miss seeing someone loading my car up on cement BRICKS and taking both my tires and wheels. And this isn’t the first time this has happened to someone at the village!!! Not to mention i’m not sure yet of any other damages that is possibly done to my car. I already have the police involved but the village needs to take action to prevent this!!

  Location is excellent --- close to tons of retail and restaurants and easy access to downtown, white rock lake, smu, etc. Apartments are well maintained but noisy. Unfortunately they continue to raise rent a lot even though covid and inflation have subsided. The new owners even changed parts of the lease agreement and all changes are to the disadvantage of tenants. There's lots of early morning construction and/or lawn work always going on. College students (or anyone who sleeps past 8am) shouldn't move here.

  Just moved here and was very disappointed to be woken up this morning with loud leaf blowers right outside my bedroom window. Loud, routine maintenance work shouldn't be done early in the morning while residents are sleeping. I hope it doesn't happen again.
