I would not recommend anyone to stay here…. Things have gotten better over the last few years (A/C works, hot water works, got a lot of pot holes filled in the parking lots) but beyond that it sucks. Management has switched three times over the past two years. So at any point in time you could have very different experiences. I’ll list mine from first to last (and keep it updated) so if you’re looking for a review of current management then scroll to the bottom. Avenue5: The first property manager was the worst when it came to even securing my apartment lease (although I’ve heard these issues are still current). My leasing agent got FIRED and nobody reached out to me and they seemingly lost all my records and tried to get me to pay a second application fee. On my move-in date I wasn’t able to actually go in there until pretty late at night because they had the bathtub resurfaced that afternoon/evening. Couldn’t bathe or shower for days and had to use a friend’s place. Technically was not even supposed to be in there because of the fumes. Never answered phones, had to make multiple trips out of my way to get someone to talk to me. Living there was better but the apartment was received in awful condition. HOWEVER aside from the move-in experience they put in work orders promptly and got them taken care of. Never had any issues with rent or getting any attention I need while they were managing. They even had free air filters available at the office and encouraged you to change them monthly. RPM Living: their “security” was people halfway uniformed riding around on a golf cart blasting music. Changed the main payment method and messed up my rent almost every month, charging double for a lot of things or services not rendered. Never answered the phones at the end of the month, presumably bc everyone was trying to have them fix their rent charges. Made me late a couple times and tried to charge me a late fee caused by their negligence. Notified nobody when they left, just locked everything up and didn’t show up ever again. Days of radio silence before transferring management. Like seriously pretty much abandoned the place without directives and left Summit completely scrambling to figure things out. Also USPS no longer delivers any mail here because during this admin the boxes became broken beyond repair. I spoke to USPS personally and have a voicemail confirming they were given a reasonable period of time to fix the mail boxes and failed to comply, which is when USPS began refusing to deliver paper mail. (They still deliver packages.) Summit (current): I hope they do better than previous mgmt but it’s not been long yet so I don’t know. I will say they never sent an email with new contact info when mgmt/ownership transferred but also they were dealt a bad hand in the beginning. If you call the main line it’s their AI that just gives you the run around (saying theyre not available and to leave a message… they don’t ever respond. I was told before to send a message through the portal for things but I’ve done that and they also didnt answer). We got signs on our door from a pest control company saying they would be coming out on a certain date and to remove all pets bc they wouldnt be liable if anything happened to them (LOL sure buddy, lawyers everywhere laughing their asses off) and then they didn’t show up. It hasn’t been long and it sucks to say but based on prior experiences I’m not super hopeful. Maybe they’ll be different. But so far I haven’t had any issues they’ve been able to make right and it’s difficult to get a response out of them when you need it. Have not fixed mailboxes. The building: When I got here the living conditions were awful but my only option with how ridiculously high cost of living and inflation are. Like roaches were painted over and stuff. Foundation is all wacky (like you can see it bc the baseboards don’t meet the floor). Mold in the bathroom. So if you DO come here I would MAKE SURE you are touring the exact apartment that you’re looking to rent or don’t go thru with it at all.
