My 3rd ever apartment tour and I can't believe it but I think this is going down as the single worst tour I will go on throughout my entire life no hyperbole. I decided to do a guideless tour as that was all they were offering on the specific day I needed. They wanted to me to unlock this weird lock thing with a 12 digit pin, which I did and after struggling with the thing for about 10 minutes I had to call someone to figure out what I was missing and after another 10 minutes it turned out the piece I needed to grab from inside the lock wasnt even in there. I then had to go back downstairs to let them know that the piece was missing only for them to pull it out randomly and send me back on my way. After going back upstairs I was then instructed to use the piece to activate the lock outside of the elevator on my guideless app, seeing that there was no place for me to tap the chip I simply got in the elevator as normal. After getting in I quickly realized I was stuck, like hard stuck no buttons would work, and after being trapped for a couple minutes I had to call emergency services, only for someone to call down the elevator and finally free me. After talking again with the leasing office it turns out that the app was incorrect and you needed to tap inside the elevator or else you would quite literally be trapped inside with no way to get out. This is single handedly one of the stupidest design choices I have ever encountered throughout my 20 years of life, there are no signs or hints alluding to this, wouldnt it be smarter to put it on the outside? They tried to claim it was for safety so intruders couldn't get up, but they could quite literally just use the stairs 😂. I informed the lady that I would be canceling the remainder of my tour and to her credit she was very polite. I had also heard throughout the multiple other apartment tours I conducted today that elevator issues are a frequent problem here, and that it is one of the most expensive options in College Station, so if you're a prospective Texas A&M student like myself scouting out potential options, I would hard pass on this place TLDR: Weird security protocols led me to being stuck in an elevator. Also heard from other people in town that this is one of the most expensive places, and still has numerous issues especially with the elevator, avoid this place and try somewhere else
