If I could give zero stars, I would.
My family and I signed a lease to move into Grand Oak Apartments. About two weeks before our scheduled move-in date, we were informed that the apartment we leased was no longer available because management decided to allow the current resident to remain in the unit. We had already made plans to move, so this was extremely stressful.
Rather than simply acknowledging the situation and working with us, we spent nearly three weeks trying to get clear answers. During that time, we were repeatedly encouraged to sign a lease for a different apartment that was not the one we originally agreed to lease. I repeatedly asked to communicate by email and requested to speak directly with the Regional Manager, but those requests were often ignored until much later.
Eventually, the Regional Manager became involved and offered us a larger apartment with two weeks of free rent. We appreciated the effort to accommodate us, although we had asked whether they would honor the property’s advertised first-month-free promotion instead. That request was declined.
Throughout this process, there were multiple instances where we received conflicting information. For example, my family and I asked several times whether electricity was included in the rent because the welcome letter stated that electricity and water were billed separately. We were repeatedly told that electricity was included. However, on our move-in day, after contacting the electric company, we were told something different by the leasing office.
There were also multiple occasions where incorrect lease documents were sent to us, and we felt pressured to sign agreements that did not reflect what we had discussed. I have emails documenting these communications.
By the time move-in day arrived, after nearly three weeks of confusion and frustration, I became upset during a phone call and used inappropriate language while expressing my frustration. I regret using those words. However, I did not threaten anyone, nor did I make any statements suggesting harm toward any employee. Following that call, I was informed that management considered the staff to be in fear for their safety and ultimately refused to provide us with possession of the apartment.
During this entire process, I documented nearly every interaction through emails and recorded phone calls where legally permitted. I also believe the office security cameras from the morning of July 7, between approximately 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., would accurately reflect what occurred during our visit to the leasing office.
This review reflects my personal experience. Others may have had different experiences, but ours was marked by poor communication, inconsistent information, unnecessary stress, and ultimately not receiving the apartment we had leased.
I sincerely hope management improves its communication and handles future residents’ situations with greater transparency and professionalism.

I had a great experience! The Assistant Community Manager was incredibly helpful and went out of her way for us throughout our visit. She clearly explained everything, guided us through the process, and made the experience very pleasant.
We toured the apartments, and they were exceptionally clean and well-maintained, both inside and throughout the surrounding property. Janeka is a warm-hearted, welcoming person who really cares about providing outstanding service. We felt well informed and taken care of! She answered all of our questions thoroughly and was always polite and professional.I really do appreciate that I had such a good experience!!
Thank you!
