This review is based on having only lived here a week, so far. This isn't intended to deter future residents, merely prepare them for the move-in experience based on how I experienced it. This is coming from someone who has no intentions on being a pain of a resident. I'm actually quite low-maintenance as long as my concerns are heard and acted upon.
The Good:
The area is quiet
The complex seems to be upkept nicely, with pests kept to a minimum.
The location is convenient, offering alternative travel methods to avoid Maryville traffic.
We love the layout and openness of the apartment. Great use of space.
Moderate Maryville PD presence, which I suppose deters crime.
The Neutral:
So far I've had to fix some overlooked issues with the apartment. Bulbs out, toilet seat repairs, additional cleaning in some rooms that were left a little nasty. I was told the provided wifi in the $200 non-negotiable amenaties package was set up and ready to go. It was not, and I lost a days work over it. Turns out you have to contact spectrum and have different equipment provided. Not a big deal, but documenting for future residents.
The Bad:
So far my experience with the new property manager, Janice, has been less than stellar. I've voiced my concerns surrounding my new apartment, and was told that "It's an apartment, it's bound to have issues." when my complaints turned out to be valid concerns. My two concerning complaints that affected us most:
--I complained about my neighbors leaving animal excrement on their patio, causing a smell. I was told that they can do as they wish on their patio, and to stay in our lane. So now every time I go out on my patio, I'm greeted with the sight of dog poop. This has been here for a week, now.
--I also voiced concerns about potential mold development in our laundry room as the dryer is expelling immense amounts of condensation and heat. The perfect environment for mold development. Janice cut this off and told me that apartments are bound to have their problems. **THIS ACTUALLY ENDED UP BEING A BROKEN DRYER VENT**. So my concern was valid. The vent was shoved into a wall with a too long of a dryer hose. I'm now having to spend my own money to fix this, to use my apartment dryer.
--Of my complaints, I was told work orders would be opened and I would have a visit from maintnenance in a day. It's been a week and nobody has contacted me, or come by. I had to call the after hours maintenance line to once again report my complaints.
This review is subject to change, depending on how Bridgeway wants to handle the concerns. I would very much like to maintain a good relationship with the company, but shrugging off my complaints isn't how you do that.
EDIT: Maintenance (Matt) came by to confirm my AC tuneup concerns. Was low on refrigerant. AC seems to be working a little better. I also showed him the dryer vent situation and he was more than happy to go grab some ducting and fixed the dryer issue, allowing me to return the items I had purchased to fix the dryer myself considering I wasn't being heard by the property manager.
