I wanted to love this place. The location was convenient, the grounds looked nice at first glance, and the maintenance team was genuinely great. Unfortunately, maintenance is carrying this entire property on their backs. Let’s start with the apartments themselves. They feel dark, dated, and poorly built. Between the brown walls and lack of natural light, our apartment often felt more like a cave than a home. The flooring is cheap vinyl that bubbles, lifts, and tears far too easily. For the amount of rent being charged, the quality simply isn’t there. The construction quality became even more apparent once people moved in around us. The walls and ceilings are incredibly thin. We could hear far more of our neighbors’ daily lives than we ever wanted to. Our upstairs neighbors sounded less like residents and more like a herd of elephants training for a marathon. What should have been a peaceful evening at home often felt like we were living underneath a bowling alley. The bathroom was a constant battle. No matter how often we cleaned, mold seemed to reappear almost immediately. Keeping the bathroom looking clean felt like a part-time job. Outside, the property has its own set of frustrations. Tree roots have pushed up various areas throughout the community, turning simple walks into an obstacle course. In some places, the sidewalk doesn’t even continue to the next apartment area, leaving residents walking in the roadway while cars are entering and exiting the complex. If you have a dog, don’t get too excited about the dog park. It was frequently covered in dog waste, and the poop bag stations were often empty. Walking my dog sometimes felt like navigating a minefield. The trash compactor overflowed so often that taking out the trash became a guessing game. Would there be room for it today, or would it be added to the growing mountain of garbage surrounding the compactor? Then there are the speed bumps. I am convinced whoever designed them has a personal vendetta against vehicles. You can practically stop before driving over them and still feel like you’ve launched your suspension into another dimension. The biggest disappointment, however, was management and corporate. When we experienced ongoing issues that significantly impacted our quality of life, we felt ignored and dismissed. Concerns were acknowledged but rarely resolved in any meaningful way. It became increasingly clear that resident satisfaction was not a priority. As a nice little bonus, despite having two adults listed on the lease, I was charged for a key fob. Apparently sharing access credentials is part of the resident experience. The one bright spot throughout all of this was the maintenance team. Every interaction we had with them was positive. They were responsive, professional, and seemed to genuinely care about residents. If I were reviewing maintenance alone, this would easily be a 5-star review. Unfortunately, great maintenance can’t fix poor management, overflowing trash, mold-prone bathrooms, damaged flooring, paper-thin walls, missing sidewalks, or speed bumps from the depths of hell. Moving out brought more relief than sadness, and I think that says everything prospective residents need to know.

A great first apartment for my best friend and I. The complex is in a great location and nicely laid out. The office staff, Bailey, Jennifer, and Emma, were always helpful whenever we had any questions or problems. The property staff always kept the greenery and amenities maintained and well-kept; any work orders we had were responded to promptly and without issue. I work multiple jobs, so I'm generally gone first thing in the morning and not off until late. However, I never felt unsafe while walking throughout the complex regardless of what time it was. Everyone seemed to keep to themselves which is always a bonus. Now the reasons I'm giving only 3 stars is because while the complex itself is peaceful, it was very frustrating to always hear the residents below and beside us whenever they were home. Even just a simple conversation or footsteps could be heard. It seemed like there was always some small party going on beneath us with loud, thumping music every weekend which is very frustrating when having to be up early for work. Another complaint I have is the overly massive size of the speed bumps. I hated hearing my car scrape the pavement EVERY time. I understand the reasoning for them, but lower ones can be just as effective. Additionally, the LACK of parking if you happen to come home any later than 5-6pm. Like I said in the first paragraph, I generally work late and anytime I would come home after work I couldn't park close to my building. I would mostly have to park on the other side of the complex because every spot would be taken which is VERY frustrating and inconvenient. Lastly, the gate that mostly never worked. It worked for maybe a month out of our 12 month lease. Which isn't necessarily a problem, but definitely notable. That being said, my best friend and I decided not to renew our lease since we're relocating, but we're still grateful to have called The Enclave of Hardin Valley our home for the past year.

lived here 4 months from September 2018 - February 2019. Paper thin walls and I could hear my extremely loud upstairs neighbors every moment of the day. The gate out front never worked and apparently it still doesn’t. Aren’t we paying for a gated community??? “We’re working on it, should be working by April” 😂 yeah okay. Look elsewhere, they’re nice when you move in but extremely rude when you move out, even when you give them over 2 grand to break the lease.

The office staff is wonderful and very helpful!! The apartment is very nice and the grounds are beautiful. I love the fenced in area where you can let your dog run. It is a very good place to call home.
