  This management company is worse than useless. It took three years to get them to even look at a water leak issue on my property and, now that I am selling the property, (primarily because of their incompetence), I have lost a sale because they had a simple question about lending qualification. My realtor and I both have been calling all week to try to get a simple answer to a question and I have lost the sale, as the buyer moved on. There is rarely anyone in the office, even if you drive over there, and they will not answer the phone, return emails or return voicemails at all. I cannot believe they are still in business.

  The 1 star rating is only chosen because it is the lowest that can be given. The true rating deserved for our HOA experience with Associa would be in the negative digits. I am an HOA Board Member who "inherited" Associa's contract from a previous Board. This company was a total failure, in my opinion. Associa will give you a low "monthly management fee" but that doesn't cover much at all. Whatever you do, don't sign "Exhibit A" because they use that as blanket agreement to be able to charge extra fees and, in our experience, you don't receive valid explanations for these extra fees. Many months, our monthly expense for Associa was 50%-100% above the monthly management fee. Other examples of the poor service: Our insurance bills were paid late twice by Associa; they charged US for the late fee for their negligence; they took money from our account for filing a lien on a property- which was never filed. When discovered by our HOA Treasurer and we were due a refund, it took months of haggling for them to reimburse us. When our contract ended, it took over 2 months for them to give our HOA the significant remaining funds in our account with Associa - and then only after we contacted 7 people on their senior executive team to get involved. Even then, it took longer than it should have. Our homeowners also reported many mistakes in recording HOA dues, etc. These are only a few examples of the mismanagement, mistakes, and weekly struggles with Associa - there are many more. I suggest any HOA stay as far away from this company as possible.
