Allow me to add to the chorus of reviews here expressing frustration with the elevators. Coming up on my first full year as a tenant, the passenger elevators have not worked with any sort of regularity. We are at a point where the only remaining service elevator is no longer reliable, likely because it has seen so much increased use by passengers, and is once again out of service. Walnut Capital has finally begun to credit our rent starting this month. This is a welcome, if late, admission, along with many apologetic newsblasts that I have received since September. We can all understand the logistical hurdles that must be involved in replacing elevators. It is less understandable how known faulty elevators, which I had the pleasure of experiencing on my tour in March last year, and which per my guide then are part of the second oldest elevator system in the city, have been allowed to fall into disrepair with no clear timeline on when we should expect relief. To anyone considering renting here, I will amend this review once I feel that the elevator situation has been adequately resolved; the facilities and amenities, which I have more positive to say about, deserve better attention in a full review. Until then, save yourself the difficulty of moving furniture up stairs and the embarrassment of a Walnut Capital representative having to explain that they are unable to offer working elevators in downtown Pittsburgh.

We have lived here for 2 years and the elevators should have been replaced then because they were consistently breaking down. People have been stuck on the elevators. But owners continued to use a bandaid and the problems have worsened almost on a daily basis, sometime inoperable several times a day. We have been using the one ugly service elevator that passengers are not supposed to use. It has been months using the one elevator and that has often broken down, too. There are 3 passenger elevators that have not been working. We keep receiving promises and apologies but the fact is, this is taking too long and it has been extremely inconvenient to take the stairs from the upper floors not only for bringing up groceries but getting to work and school on time. The stairwell is also open on the first floor lobby and there is no security person in front between certain hours. Anyone can enter up the staircase . It is not secure, despite cameras no one is monitoring several hours a day. The security is important because we are in the heart of a busy city. The owners have not invested in making this a quality and safe apartment building. I would not recommend this place until the unreliable elevators have been replaced, especially if you have any disabilities.

I have lived here for a couple months and enjoyed my experience. The apartments are fairly new and I haven’t experienced any issues. The dryer is ventless, and it can take a while to fully dry large items. It’s still nice to have in-unit laundry. The huge windows are great; I always enjoy watching the sunset over the city. The staff at the front desk and leasing office are nice and friendly. Both are easily available to answer any questions. The maintenance team is very nice and responsive. The elevators do their job most of the time, but they are reaching their end of life and should be replaced soon. Sometimes the doors close slowly, or it takes 30 seconds before the cab actually starts to descend to the lobby. Overall I would recommend living here.
