  Apartment Review Overall rating: 3/5 Value for money: 2/5 1. Lighting & View The unit I lived in faced the courtyard. Natural light was extremely poor — I had to keep the lights on even during the daytime. The view was also terrible, and privacy was very limited since I could clearly see into other residents’ apartments across the courtyard. Apartments facing the courtyard should reasonably have lower rent due to these issues, but they did not. 2. Soundproofing Overall, the sound insulation was decent, but there were some serious flaws. The soundproofing between neighboring units on the same floor was actually quite good — I rarely heard my side neighbors during my year-plus stay. However, in the bathroom, I could frequently hear noise that seemed to come from either upstairs or downstairs. Inside the apartment, I was often disturbed by the sound of upstairs neighbors vacuuming or walking barefoot, which appears to be a common issue in this type of building with wooden flooring. The biggest problem came from outside: for some reason, when it rained, the sound of raindrops hitting the roof or eaves was extremely loud. Given that rain is very common in Pittsburgh, this meant that on many rainy nights I had to wear earplugs to sleep. 3. Interior Finishes The interior finishes were acceptable at best, but extremely cheap considering that this building markets itself as “luxury.” You can tell this immediately during a tour. The floors are not real hardwood, the cabinets have no soft-close or anti-collision design, and the toilet seat slams shut with no slow-close mechanism. The washer and dryer were not modern front-load machines but an old-fashioned Top-load agitator washer, which damaged several of my clothes and was extremely noisy. The air conditioning system was also terrible — it made the apartment either too cold or too hot, and it was very loud when running. 4. Ventilation Ventilation was very poor. There is no fresh air system. The only way to ventilate is by opening the windows, but they only open a very small amount. As a result, whenever you cook, the entire apartment ends up smelling like food. 5. Package Delivery The package room was a complete mess. Although packages are supposed to be organized by floor, most delivery drivers simply leave them randomly piled up. Some packages were even left outside the main entrance. This made it extremely difficult to find deliveries, and there are no secure package lockers. I lost multiple packages during my time there. 6. Security Although the main entrance has access control, you do not need a key to use the elevator. Once someone enters the building, they can go anywhere. Last winter, there was a homeless person who frequently stayed in the space between the outer and inner doors (the inner door requires key access, but the outer one does not). That area was warm, and he often smelled strongly of alcohol, which made me feel unsafe when picking up food deliveries. Final Summary The building materials and construction quality feel very cheap, yet the apartment is marketed and priced as “luxury.” I paid around $2,200 per month for a courtyard-facing studio, plus approximately $50 for water, $100 for electricity, $100 mandatory Wi-Fi, and $200 for parking, totaling nearly $2,700 per month — which is absurd for a studio of this quality. If you have a car, you can find much better and cheaper apartments south of the river. If you don’t have a car, you would be better off choosing Coda next door (even though their leasing team is slow to respond). Overall, the price does not match the living experience at all. Overall experience: 3/5 Considering value for money: 2/5 Would not recommend.

  It was a great, easy, and stress-free experience working with Derrick from the leasing office. My apartment was originally scheduled to be ready on January 7, but I needed to move in a little earlier. Derrick went above and beyond to facilitate the entire process smoothly and ensured the unit was ready in time for my move-in. If anyone is considering living at The Industry, I highly recommend reaching out to Derrick. Overall, my experience has been excellent and the unit itself is even better. Very upscale, modern, and well-maintained complex. I truly love living here and would highly recommend it as a great place to live.

  Wonderful staff, safe and convenient location, excellent gym, great workspace / lounge! I literally moved in because of Clarence, the fantastic former property manager, as I legitimately felt I could trust him and wouldn't just be a door number at a big apartment complex. Jalissa, the former leasing agent, was also absolutely wonderful, and super kind. Rich too is excellent, a gentlemen and wonderful technician.

  I had a great experience at Industry. The building is bright, clean, and includes great amenities. The staff are overall amazing and were very helpful. The studio apartment is well designed and was a comfortable living space. The location is also really convenient. I lived at the property for only 6 months, and only left for reasons unrelated to Industry. Everyone at the property is amazing. Maintenance was very responsive and solved issues very quickly. The property manager is one of the nicest people ever and was very communicative, easy to work with, and genuinely cares for the community. Similarly, the leasing/sales consultant on the property was super knowledgeable and friendly during the leasing process and beyond. The building staff are very helpful, kind, and greatly care about the community. The building is new construction so everything is in great shape. The lobby and common areas are cleaned very regularly and always look and smell amazing. I've never seen it in another building but there is a small grab-and-go store kiosk with drinks and snacks that has been great and convenient. There is plenty of space to work in the common area as well. The outdoor area is nice and reflects the care and effort that goes into the building (The flower landscaping was a sight to see at the start of summer) One of the best amenities is the gym. It is spacious, in great shape, and has so much equipment, more than anywhere else I've seen. I can't forget the parking garage either. It is large and spacious and does not feel cramped at all. The location is unbeatable. You can comfortably walk to Giant Eagle, Aldi, and Walgreens. A little further is Target and Whole Foods. Still within walking distance is Trader Joe's and Staples. If you are ambitious you can walk to CVS in North Oakland too. For Asian grocery stores, there is Fudi and Tokyo Japanese nearby. Overall lots of grocery options. Similarly, the Shadyside restaurants (Walnut St, etc.) are easy to access. The apartment itself was great as well. I rented a studio, but it was still very spacious. Since the build is pretty new, all appliances and fixtures are nice and modern. Kitchen appliances were nice with stainless steel, large countertops were good as well. Bathroom fixtures similarly nice. Noise was not really a problem and this is coming from someone very sensitive to noise. Of course it is apartment living so there will be some sounds you hear from the hallway and neighbors. Some final notes on random topics: The move-in process is aided by the large parking, front street spots, and large padded elevators (very nice elevators). The building felt safe and there is key fob access at all doors. The front door entry system is easy to set up to easily allow guests. There are some organized community events such as yoga, but I never personally attended. Similarly, I don't have pets but there were many in the building. Internet is great and included in a service fee that also includes garbage collection I believe. I work from home and the internet never let me down. Overall Industry is a great place to live, with great staff, nice amenities, and a very convenient location. Thank you!

  hi, if our son had decided to stay in the area we would have rented the studio or one bedroom. Beautiful apartments in Miley was wonderful to work with. Going to be a great place to live
