  Unprofessional management and poor communication made this apartment experience disappointing. Residents are treated more like children in a dorm than adults paying rent. The lack of respect and professionalism needs improvement.

  I moved into The Alcott in September 2025, and while the building itself is beautiful, my experience with management has been extremely disappointing. Honestly, I cannot wait to move out. Communication from management has been one of the biggest issues. Emails regularly go unanswered for weeks at a time, and if you have an issue in your apartment that needs to be addressed quickly, good luck getting a response. One of the biggest issues I had was a strong chemical/acetone-like smell in my apartment that lasted for over a month. I repeatedly brought it to management’s attention, but I was never given an explanation for what was causing the smell or what I may have been breathing in. One of the solutions they suggested was moving my SMEG toaster onto the balcony because it was supposedly “too close to my silverware.” The toaster had been sitting unused in an upper cabinet for about four months. Another suggestion was to leave my balcony door open to air out the apartment. I have two cats, so obviously leaving my balcony door open is not a realistic option. To this day, I still have no answer as to what caused the smell or what I was breathing in, and I was never offered any compensation or a real solution to the problem. Parking has also been a constant issue. I pay $375 a month for a parking space, yet I regularly come home and there is no parking available. I end up having to find street parking even though I am paying a significant amount every month for a spot in the building. Things got even more frustrating while I was away on vacation. My vehicle was booted, and management repeatedly contacted the towing company in an attempt to have my vehicle towed. I repeatedly tried to contact management while I was away to get the situation resolved, but I was completely ignored. Instead of responding to me, even though I knew they had received my messages, they continued contacting the towing company about my vehicle. I had already submitted paperwork proving that the vehicle belonged to me, and that information had been provided to multiple managers over time. Unfortunately, the constant turnover in management makes situations like this even more difficult. Another major concern is the electric billing. Residents are told that their electricity is individually metered, but based on my experience and conversations with other residents, it does not appear that the billing works the way you would expect individual metering to work. I have heard of residents in one-bedroom apartments receiving electric bills as high as $600. While some people receive $60 electric bills during the same time period. That is extremely concerning and something I believe prospective residents should be aware of. Overall, I do not feel that the experience here matches what I would expect from a “luxury” building. There are constant additional charges, rules and policies seem to change whenever management decides. It has gotten to the point where I’m uncomfortable living here, because of how many things have changed upon signing my lease. Once you sign your lease you basically are ignored and forced to agree to everything they change. Half of the reviews you read are fake. Mainly people who are taking tours. Not residents who actually live here. The building itself is beautiful, but that is really where the positives end for me. A luxury building should also have responsive management, reliable maintenance, transparent billing, and properly managed amenities. Unfortunately, I have not experienced those things during my time here. If you are considering moving into The Alcott, I would strongly recommend doing your research and, if possible, speaking with current residents before signing a lease.

  This place is a scam. I’ve been waiting on my refund check for 6 months now. 6 whole months of them giving me the same lies “ it’s been mailed ” “ a new check has been mailed” already gave them 2 different addresses to mail my refund check. It’s like they are all train to tell the same lie including their regional manager. I even went to headquarters downtown. Someone from their sister company had to put me in contact with their regional manager that I had already emailed and she never replied but decides to reply when someone from their sister office is added in the email. Now she is back to ignoring me. 6 whole months and I can’t get my refund check and i literally live one block from their building. I will be taking legal actions and will make sure myself and other people leave negative reviews to this place until I get my check. Since they want to ignore my emails I will get their attention this way. At this point it’s not even about the money anymore it’s about the principle. A simple follow up email or an answer can fix this issue.

  I had a great experience touring The Alcott in Philadelphia. From the moment I arrived, Isabela Gonzalez made the entire experience feel welcoming and comfortable. She was extremely friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my questions without ever making the tour feel rushed. What stood out the most was how genuinely welcoming Isabela was. Since this is a potential home for me and my family, that really mattered. She did an excellent job explaining the property, showing us around, and helping us actually picture what it would be like to live there. The Alcott itself made a great impression as well. The property is beautiful, well-kept, and has a very comfortable, upscale feel to it. Everything we saw during the tour made it feel like a place we could truly call home. Isabela Gonzalez deserves a lot of credit for making our experience such a positive one. She represents the property extremely well, and her personality, professionalism, and attention to detail definitely added to our interest in potentially making The Alcott our next home. Thank you, Isabela, for making us feel so welcome! 5-star experience all around.
