I lived at Meeder Flats for around three years. After renting at several different apartment complexes, Meeder Flats has been the best experience. Why you ask? It started on my move in day, which was the Friday after Thanksgiving. Tonette came in on her day off so that I could begin the move in process. This was very much appreciated. Tonette and Lauren are both very welcoming and friendly. They take the time to know the residents personally and make it feel like home. All the residents I’ve encountered are just as friendly and respectful of each other. After this past winter’s large snowstorm residents were helping each other to dig out. It felt like a sense of community. Would recommend to family or a friend looking for a place to call home.

We move out of Meeder in two days after two years of living here and if I had to do it all over again, I’d live here in a heart beat. The community, the amenities, the safe neighborhood to walk around in, the Monday food trucks by the green, and of course, the staff. The ladies at the front office have been nothing but kind and so helpful. As someone who works from home I’ve found the internet super reliable, and I love the focus rooms and little nooks you can work at with your laptop in the clubhouse. I highly recommend Meeder and will miss it greatly. Lastly, building 1 is superior, in my opinion, because it has the clubhouse, the free coffee, the mail room and Amazon hub, the gym, and “the perch” (the seating area outside the gym — my favorite spot to read or work). Of course you still have full access to those things in building 2, you just have to walk over.
Our company rents two apartments at Meeder Flats. Our monthly spend is over $5,000. These two leases had different end dates so we respectfully requested to synchronize them, which was met with a blatant attempt to raise the lease on one of the units by 50%. There was no room to negotiate. To renew this lease for a 7-month term cost us a LOWER total amount than renewing it for a 5-month term. As result, we will pay for two months of vacancy, after renting two apartments for over two years. The property management is fully aware that their conduct is unfair and deceptive, yet if there's more money to be extracted out of tenants, they will do it at the expense of any established tenant relationship. Apparently, there is enough demand in the market for them to not care about finding cost-saving resolutions for existing tenants. This would warrant a 2-star review, but sadly, there are much wider habitability and safety concerns at Meeder Flats.
Firstly, one of our apartments is a corner unit, and the standard A/C system is not powerful enough to heat it up during the winter months. In December, our baby monitor was reading 55 degrees fahrenheit. We voiced this repeatedly with facility management, and eventually, they provided portable heaters that just raised our electric bill significantly. Maintenance promised to install additional in-line heaters to fix the problem permanently, but this was never done.
A few months later, I discovered very large icicles hanging overhead from the top floor above multiple entrances to building one. I immediately notified facility management and made it clear that the falling ice could cause serious harm or death to anyone traversing through the entrances. This was met with apathy and disregard that was truly shocking. The facility managers peaked out of the door to look at the ice formations and went back inside without barriering the area off. I stayed at one entrance to warn the several people passing through, including children, to watch out as they did. It took over an hour for maintenance to arrive and they just knocked off the ice without setting up barriers below to ensure that nobody gets hurt in the process. To witness such disregard for human life is extremely sad.
On the surface, Meeder Flats may appear like a good place to live, but make no mistake, they DO NOT care about anything but squeezing the maximum amount of money out of you. They do not care about retaining you as a tenant, they do not care about your satisfaction, and they certainly do not care about your safety and well-being. If you value common ethics, avoid this place. There are plenty of better options in the area.
Overall, the staff and grounds are great, my only negative is the build quality, I'm on the ground floor and my upstairs neighbors literally keep me awake at night, they have no respect for anyone living below them but I would expect the build quality for a "luxury" apartment to be better.
This place has been a fantastic home for me and my dog! Everyone is super friendly and the Maintenance folks are wonderful! Super fast and responsive and friendly!
