I toured this place a month ago it was beautiful and if I would decide to move I would make sure I had an apartment with all the new upgrades the one I was shown. Stainless kitchen, beautiful carpeting. Hardwood floor, neautiful balcony etc. The one thing I feel is ufair is that $224 so called amenities package. I dont want cable, i have a streaming service $25 a month, internet $29.95 a month. I have my own printer, tool kit, 3 months for pool, that a rip off, the gym is average and out dated. Plus if you dont work out in the gym why pay a package. You should be allowed to create your own package deal with what you want and need. Mary was kind but I could tell she wasnt impressed with me, I asked all the questions managers hate to hear. Everything is extra, storage closet $40 garage $175, storage should be included. By the time you add your rent $1130 + 224 amenities package, $40 storage closet. $175 garage =$1569. Cha ching.

My daughter moved into Chatham Commons in December after graduating from Slippery Rock University. The entire process with Kathy was easy, friendly and informative. Her apartment is beautiful, spacious and cozy. All the buildings are kept clean and pretty, as well as the grounds! The staff in very helpful and attentive to all needs that arise. Paul with maintenance is wonderful, he acts immediately on all maintenance issues. Her neighbors have been so welcoming and wonderful to her! If you are looking for very nice apartments that are conveniently located, you should consider Chatham Commons!
The best property manager and tenant experience I’ve ever had.
I moved to Pittsburgh from Philadelphia almost 2 years ago, and after reading the overwhelmingly positive Google reviews, I decided to go with Chatham Commons. It was the best decision I’ve made. Kathie, the property manager, is the most helpful property manager I’ve had. Shoutout to the maintenance staff as well. Anytime that there has been an unexpected issue, Kathie and her staff have responded quickly, and follow up to make sure that things have been fixed. It has been reassuring that I’m paying for staff that actually care to make my living experience comfortable and have my best interest in mind when issues inevitably arise with apartment appliances, electricity, etc.
Other notable things about this complex is that it’s very safe, clean, and by-and-large quiet. The amenities are also nice. The gym is always kept up to date regarding equipment, and the valet trash and pool are nice, too.
I could say many more things here, but this is already getting to be a lengthy review. I wish I could renew, but will not be able to since I may be leaving Pittsburgh in the coming months.
Definitely give this apartment complex a look!

As a current resident, I would not recommend living here.
We pay a premium for a “renovated” apartment; however, our unit is not renovated and does not match what was shown during walkthroughs. The model apartments featured brand-new stainless steel appliances and modern, white bathrooms that matched the rest of the unit. Our apartment does not reflect this at all. The bathrooms have outdated brown cabinets and finishes that were never disclosed prior to move-in.
Since moving in, we have experienced ongoing and unresolved maintenance issues. At move-in, the blinds were broken, the refrigerator did not cool properly, the bathroom drain did not work, and the dishwasher was improperly installed. Most concerning, our refrigerator has failed twice, resulting in spoiled food on two separate occasions. Despite multiple requests, management has refused to reimburse us for these losses.
We are currently on our second broken refrigerator and have now been without a working fridge for over a week. This is completely unacceptable—especially for a household with a toddler. The proposed solution from the property manager was to walk our food to another building in below-freezing temperatures, up three flights of stairs, as our building does not have an elevator. This is not a reasonable or safe solution.
Additional maintenance concerns remain unresolved. We have submitted three requests for a broken dryer that has yet to be repaired. Several outlets in our unit do not work, and when this was reported, we were incorrectly told they were functioning. The same maintenance technician is repeatedly sent and consistently cuts corners rather than fixing issues properly. Management continues to dismiss or minimize these problems.
Financially, the costs are misleading. While the unit was advertised at $1,700 per month, we consistently pay over $2,200 monthly before utilities due to undisclosed and excessive fees. This includes a $200+ monthly “amenities package” that offers very little value—only a pool and a small, outdated gym. There is no clubhouse, no recreational areas, and overall the amenities are not worth the cost. We also pay additional fees, including valet trash, which operates inconsistently and without a set schedule.
Overall, this property is misleading, poorly managed, and does not deliver what is advertised. Paying extra for a so-called luxury apartment that is neither renovated nor properly maintained is extremely frustrating. This was our first apartment after moving out of our parents’ home, and the experience has been deeply disappointing.

I think that this place was very good because I like the people there.
